Bethesda Soccer On Way Down

It's literally one of the only clubs in the area... the options are Bethesda or Potomac if you don't want to spend hours in traffic driving somewhere further. The costs are very close. Seemingly (at least for girls), BSC 1st and 2nd teams are better than Potomac 1st teams... not to mention Potomac girls have no opportunity for ECNL. Not saying that BSC is he better option, but on the surface does seem like one.

I feel very similarly on the boys side. Genuinely curious for a boy in Montgomery County who is serious about soccer, where else can he go? Achilles also seems to take a lot of heat on this forum.

Boys side is definitely better than the girls after looking at how poorly the younger girls played in wags. I was shocked by the skills in game tbh and watched at least 3 separate halves of multiple teams been our own games.

So you just named the two high visibility brand name expensive clubs and you seriously think they are the only ones around?
Wow

They’re the only ones in the area that has ECNL and MLSNext. There are of course plenty of other clubs in that area and I highly recommend trying those out as I don’t think being at those early ages guarantees that you get on those teams later on.

The other ones aren't going to get you MLSnext or ECNL. They also cost the same amount and the teams usually fall apart as they get older.

Bethesda MLS Next teams have many kids who weren't at Bethesda or Potomac before U13's

ok, taking ECNL/MLS out of the conversation, what good/supportive club do you suggest. A club where a girl can get great training and be competative by U13?

Rosa has good girls team.

But look at small clubs around u that only field boys teams and have your daughter play with the boys.

SC has an issue with how he treats keepers, not unlike most players, but extra hard on 11/12 year olds blamed for goals.

Um, no, re ROSA. They are horrendous aside from maybe a year or two, and don’t even have a team some years.

is there an "applied team" list for their tournament next month? Wonder if the quality of teams has dropped even more
