You are conflating two issues. Parents breaking the law. Questionable handling of sexual assaults. |
One of the articles reported that the threats seem coordinated based on consistent language. When is the appropriate time for the FBI to get involved? |
Never. This is a local law enforcement issue. Period. These parents are not "domestic terrorists." They are concerned parents who are tired of the lies and dismissiveness of school boards. |
That seems really weak If the similar language is just a result of similar ideology. I assume the FBI didn’t open investigations into the BLM movement just because some people holding BLM signs were looting or arrested. Garland should know better, and I was a supporter of his. |
The parents who are attacking and threatening educators and school board members? You seem very sure of that. Are you one of these parents? Who have you threatened? |
Why wouldn't I conflate them? They are connected. The dad who was arrested is the father of the girl who was raped --and, if you look at the tape, it is not clear he should have been arrested. And, then, the Commonwealth ATtorney personally prosecuted him (this is highly unusual for a misdemeanor.) She asked for jail time, but the judge suspended it. You think it is "conflating" two issues. It is not. The issue is that the School Board is negligent and, perhaps, criminal in this case. That is now known, as the Board was aware of the alleged rape and denied any knowledge of it. So, the issue here is behavior of School Boards. Death threats are wrong under any circumstances, but it is unlikely that the death threats are coming from the parents at the meetings. You are wanting to suppress free speech at Board meetings because people are angry. And, if you think the death threats don't work both ways, I have a bridge to sell you. |
Local law enforcement was involved. If it seems coordinated of course it should be escalated to the FBI. There also may be other details that link the attacks and threats. |
It had already risen to the state level from ongoing threats starting back in April. State troopers were already there to assist the local sheriff. All death threats are wrong. Escalating and coordinated threats and assaults is another level of wrong. How should the school board move forward to ensure safety of all members and attendees? They already had extra police and state troopers? What’s next? |
And you are absolutely conflating the two issues. |
The issue is conflated whether uou |
Yep. Thats what we all suspected. |
Will be interesting to see how they spin this! Ziegler too, who clearly lied. |
I am very confused about something. In the video of the meeting, Board member Beth Barts asked whether there were records of assaults in bathrooms. After being told that there weren't, she went on to talk about the Tuscarora HS locker room violence and noted that violence can happen anywhere and that all students need to be protected. Would she really ask the question to make per point knowing that Ziegler would lie? Was that exchange planned? If she knew and wasn't expecting him to lie, why didn't she speak up? There was a report of an attack in a bathroom, but it had not been fully investigated at that time. |
