Did not want to hijack another thread but all the girl shorts i see are super short, where can i find longer Bermuda type shorts for girls? I dont want jeans or anything too tight. how about Capri's? anything that gets close to the knee is good. i feel like the shorts for girls look more like bloomers. at that point why wear them?
ugh this is frustrating. |

| Hanna Andersson bike shorts. We wear them under dresses too. They're almost one length. Or capris, if that's what you're looking for. Often on sale. |
All the bubble shorts are short. We just wear leggings a size smaller. Seems to fit the butt and looks like capris lengthwise
Oshkosh and Gymboree had some nice seersucker type capris I got for dd this season. |

I've been posting in those threads too. Kohl's, Cat and Jack at Target, boy's shorts, Primary (if you have a thinner kid), and second hand. Seriously, this trend must have started recently because I've had really great luck at consignment shops.
I hate, hate the short, tight, super elastic stuff for girls. She doesn't need to look like a mini-teenager, she needs to be able to move and run like a normal toddler! |

| Sorry didn't see you didn't want jeans, but there are tons of non-jean options listed too |

| I just used boy shorts for my 3 yo daughter. She wears Nike shorts under dresses. |

Bloomers are standard toddler wear. Please don't give your daughter a complex, and teach her that showing skin above the knee is wrong, trashy/slutty and makes her deserving of unwanted attention.
She's a toddler let her enjoy her clothes, and her play and not feel shame for her body. |

+1 I live in Florida and buy 4 every summer for the past three years. They do not shrink or wear out like the ones from target / gap / etc and they are now making it through a second round with kid #2! |
NP here. This has nothing to do with female empowerment, crazy lady. A) Long shorts make it possible to slide down a slide when it is too hot on her bare butt/legs. B) when she flips over on the monkey bars, she wants the freedom to NOT have the other kids to laugh at her when they see her underwear. c) My kid's church preschools required shorts under dresses, so they are required as part of the dress code. No shame involved. |
