Actually, we can't see it wasn't true and verified. First, they don't need to verify every single thing in it. That would be impossible in many cases. Second, we don't know what other information they had. And third, they don't say it's true and verified to a certainty, only that it's reliable enough to establish probable cause, which in this case was based on other information they had about Page, and that they had worked with Steele before and found him reliable. So now you see why the Steele dossier was a valid basis for a warrant. |
It is really pathetic when you can't take the time to cite your source and pass off a posting as your own....... https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/27/politics/michael-cohen-donald-trump-oversight-committee-russia/ |
There was a sickening irony in Republicans blasting Cohen for the lies he told in service of Trump when they are doing the exact same thing every damn day. |
Yes, you're right! But, overshadowed by this circus on both sides. This will matter to the huge pool of independent of voters on the fence. It's only my opinion. |
Not intentional. Everything is in quotes and available in most articles and broadcasts. Thanks for posting the link. |
Hmmm... you take the time to copy and paste the 29 points word for word and you say omission of the source is "not intentional?" |
It is only overshadowed by what you personally choose to focus on. I know a lot of people who didn't watch the hearing and were satisfied to catch the next-day headlines or one news show about it. They also read the other news reports and generally went about their days. |
I disagree. This was clearly a “change” election. And polls showed a large majority of people wanted Congress to start serving as a check on Trump. This weeks, Dems held the Cohen hearing, passed gun control legislation and terminated the Fake Emergency. I think a lot of Independents want Confpgress to walk and chew gum. Trumpkins, of course, want Congress to do neither. |
That is so Melanian. |
Writing checks from your blind trust is certainly extremely unethical. It may be illegal depending on the fine print of the trust documents. Paying off an illegal campaign loan and disguising it as legal services is illegal. |
I watched AOC's questioning again. Holy sh#t was this good for a person who didn't even go to law school.
|
I am certain that her questions were carefully written out in advance. That said, she delivered the goods, and very nicely. Contrast with experienced lawyers who have melted down in similar situations (remember Gowdy?) Big win for her. |
Meadows wants to prosecute Cohen for perjury. So I guess that's now a real crime again? ![]() |
Her four minutes of questioning basically opened the doors to three future, separate investigations related to insurance fraud, tax fraud, and estate planning fraud. All of which will require accessing all of the Trump family's tax returns going back decades, plus the corporate books of the Trump Org. |
Trumpsters: Ethics, schmethics. Anyway who cares about laws that are man-made, at least when it comes to our dear leader? The ends justify the means! |
