When will FCV put a team in the top bracket? Until then throwing stones like this makes you a fool. |
They beat FCV at ASIST and ended with the trophy. They can't be that bad. |
Did Loudoun score a goal this weekend? |
|
Please stop talking about U13 soccer scores. Scores at that age are entirely irrelevant. The only thing parents should think about is whether your kid is receiving good coaching and working enough on their own so that they are improving faster than their peers. It is a marathon not a sprint. |
This was the Loudoun parent quote that started it all: “Spoken like a true sour grapes parent. Don't be mad at Loudoun Soccer because your Elite team could never beat them on the field.” |
What area teams in DA and ECNL are likely to emerge as the strongest over the next few years? |
No, look back - it was your nasty post that started it. "Loudoun is a scam. Parents paid for all of that. Loudoun is good for little kids and are benificaries of a huge recreation pool. Robotic coaching. Nothing high end but facilities paid and bought for by the people." |
In all honesty I think 06, 07, 08 groups will have a lot of parity across the DAs. FCV simply had a head start as a ECNL club with their older groups. FCV might be able to play the recruiting game better and return to their roots sonto speak. But Arlington has some good teams, and Spirit will no longer be starting from scratch. DA adding the U13 age group in this conference is really the difference maker in regards going toe to toe with ECNL which added U13 last year. It levels the playing field. If your kid starts ECNL at U13 there is much less “FOMO” and once your in a team it is always harder to leave. So if parents believe DA to be the top destination then you just go straight there without complicating things by spending a year in ECNL and pushing the decision off another year. I think a PP alluded to some of the thought process that players and parents go through in regards to where friends and teammates go. That can never be discounted. Often these decisions are never made in a vacuum. |
I would think the BRYC 03 girls are the top 03 team in the area. They just added the VDA's top 03 to play up front which should improve them even more. |
I live in Loudoun county but I think Arlington may be the dark horse because of their location. They can pull from many area communities inside the beltway, and even DC and Bethesda. Spirit and FCV are on top of each other and with Loudoun getting ECNL there are 3 clubs fighting each other over the player pool out here. |
Interesting theory. Their 04 team is pretty strong already, and the 05s are improving. They are both pretty solid teams. ID sessions are this week. We’ll see how many girls they are able to attract. |
Well, they certainly have the most obnoxious parents. At least they have that going for them. |
Spirit is nowhere near FCV.
However, Loudoun is. Thats why Loudoun ECNL will not be good. Spirit is surrounded by BRYC and Mclean...thats their issue. Arlington will not pull a bunch of kids like people think. Mclean ECNL is historically a good program for college placement. BRYC ECNL 03s are a good team...for sure. People must remember that the girls soccer gold vein runs from Western Prince William, Western and Central Fairfax, and Loudoun. |
The 03 age groups are settled and there is no point speculating on them beyond where DA kids who get squeezed out by the combined age group for 03's next year. The only thing I take issue with is "McLean ECNL is historically a good program for college placement." While this is true it was because of ECNL's monopoly. With future age groups and DA McLean will still offer quality coaching but kids may not stay with McLean when Spirit and Arlington are viable options with DA. |
