Natalie Dormer, who plays Margery, is the spitting image of the young Diana Rigg, who plays Olenna.

Just googled her, I don't think she is. Not really.

Maybe I am thinking of the wrong TV show, but didn't someone find the Baratheon heir living in a village making swords? No idea what happened to him other than being found. Really, it could be the wrong show, not sure I am smart enough to keep up with the 100 characters in GoT.

That's Gendry, who wound up going with Arya to Harrenhal, where he almost got eaten by rats, or something. Then they were captured by the Brothers Without Banners in Season 3. The BWB sold Gendry to Melisandre, who hoped to burn Gendry alive, but Davos helped him escape. He has not been seen since.

Why must 90% of the fathers on this show be pure evil?

I wouldn't call him pure evil any more than Cersei. I think that the male and female characters have different ways of exerting their power and control over their children.

When it comes to pure evil I think Ramsey and Joffrey even more than I think of the White Walkers.

Well, I was thinking specifically of the fathers. Tywin, Pops Tarwell, Walder Frey, Pops Greyjoy -- they are all awful.

Agreed. None of them make the Father of the Year short list. They are all terrible fathers, but otherwise strong leaders of their armies.

Yeah, Natalie Dormer is pretty but she's no Emma Peel.

NP. I see it. There's definitely something there.

Wow. I completely see it.

Brynden Tully, Catelyn Stark's uncle (her father's brother), so the Stark children's great-uncle. Head of House Tully.

Edmure (the doofus who got married at the Red Wedding and who appeared in Frey chains in the last episode) is the head of House Tully, since he was the oldest son of the last head. Brynde the Blackfish is his uncle, but not head of the House. (Like in the UK, where Prince William (not Prince Andrew) would take over from Charles.) This will likely be important in the next episode.

Most are just tough, not evil, trying to bring up tough children. Winter is Coming, after all. Tywin and Tarly are this model, and neither of them has lost a child yet. The Ned and Jamie model? Not so much.

(I realize that Bran and/or others may have altered history ... and may continue to do so with every visit to the past, so it gets murky.) My recollection of the First Men's relationship with the Children from Old Nan(?) was that the two groups coexisted peacefully. Based on last week, we know they did until they didn't.

This show is beginning to feel like a medieval fantasy child of the Matrix and Lost. I liked both ... but my mind is melting.

Martin's Westeros history is meant to echo loosely the history of the British Isles, with successive waves pushing out the earlier inhabitants. So the Children might represent the Britons (or the Picts?), with the First Men representing the Anglo-Saxons and the Targaryens representing the Normans. I didn't read that anywhere, but that's what I'd always assumed. The Targaryens may also be the Romans, with ancient Valyria being Rome. Maybe the Iron Born are the Vikings and the Dothraki the Huns or Mongols?

Ned Stark is tough.

Tarly is mean and cruel.

Yes, I have always seen it this way too. But I always thought the Targaryens were the Romans and the Dothraki the Mongols. I see the Wildings as the Vikings.

I was so excited to see The Hound back. Anyone else??

How is Arya ever going to survive that wound. And there's no way she can avoid the Faceless Man the rest of her life, if she even lives.

With Sansa out and about visiting these Houses (some of which are Bolton allies), how has that monster husband of hers not tracked her down yet? She doesn't seem too concerned about him finding her. I would be. And who do you think her letter was to? My guess is Littlefinger.

Please don't let the Hound be the defender of the Seven! Will brothers fight over the Seven question in kings landing?

Little Finger (I call him "Carcetti" bc that was his character in The Wire) has Sansa right where he wants her. He plays people so well with his manipulations. He purposely secured an army knowing Sansa will inevitably come around and ask him for it.
