Anybody following the Karen Read trial in Boston?

Is the state saying she intentionally ran him over? What is the evidence of that? What about accidentally?

Also, didn't she text him after? Is the state saying those texts are staged? Or did she run into him and not realize the extent of the impact until later?

What is Canton like? Similar to MetroWest?

Or is it somehow indicative of something else and if so, what? I get that the defense doesn’t need to show proof of something else happening to cause the death, but what could the phone calls have to do with it?

In my opinion its main value is demonstrating they may be willing to lie under oath. Obviously I don’t know, but personally I do not find the many butt dials (and a butt answer!) credible.

It’s not Wellesley but it’s also not Saugus. Think Melrose before it had its glow up.

Yeah.

In a clip that Brennan played for the jury, Read, 45, discussed O’Keefe’s death with “Dateline.” In the interview, Read said she “could have tagged him in the knee and incapacitated him. He didn’t look mortally wounded as far as I could see. But could I have done something that knocked him out?”

I used to live in Dedham - Canton was very blue collar through the 80s and 90s. As real estate in Boston got outrageously expensive, more MC/UMCs have moved into Canton. It's generally very nice now, lots of new builds in the late 90s, early 2000s. It's where you can buy a house with a decent commute into Boston for 750k+ but under 1.5m.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to be a heavy drinker with MS.

You don’t think Higgins (guy who was PO’d at JOK, claims he went right home after the party but lied about going to the police station at 1am) and Brian Albert (homeowner) butt dialing each other at 2:27 am while Jen McCabe googles “hos long to die in the cold” at the same time isn’t sketchy?

Is that what they’re trying to communicate to the jurors?

I’m sure they will but haven’t gotten to butt dials yet.

That's not true.

And the dog was rehomed, and they got new cell phones right before they were to turn theirs over etc etc. Shady AF.

If you think it’s shady that they got new cell phones then you must also think that the AARCA investigator is shady because he got a new cell phone and deleted the hundred plus text messages between him and the defense team.

NP-They went out of their way to get rid of the cell phones, the day before they had to hand them in. One drove it to a military base to chuck it! You may think KR did it but you can't be serious if you think this is normal behavior. Your fact doesn't make this fact any less suspicious.

I think they were both blackout drunk - him to the point of vomiting apparently - and he either got hit lightly by her - although this doesn’t totally check out because it doesn’t sound like she peeled out it sounds like she waited for him to go in - or someone else, or he just fell and hit his head hard and passed out. He was completely wasted. He likely couldn’t get up even if he was just minorly injured.

Regardless it’s clearly not murder and this entire thing is nonsense. It’s a drunk driving accident. Should she have been driving, hundred percent no, so she should be tagged on I guess negligent manslaughter.
