It took almost 6 years for the Obama Administration (with "help" from the GOP Senate) to recover the US economy from the W disaster. The Democrats have managed to turn Trumpism around in a miraculous year. Trump lost the jobs, Biden got them back. It doesn't always happen that way, and certainly THIS was not predicted. Recall in 2020 the experts were saying it would take until 2025 to recover, assuming COVID was in the rear view mirror.

So poo-poo it all you want, this has been wonderful for the US of A.

So why is Biden getting such abysmal marks on the economy? It doesn’t make sense.

There was no W disaster. Stop making up facts.

No W disaster? Are you nuts? Or clueless? Don't you remember the 2007-2008 Financial Crisis? https://www.britannica.com/event/financial-crisis-of-2007-2008

yet no one was concerned about the free money from 2017 to 2020 when the economy was supposedly so strong. Go figure.

From 2017 to pre-Covid 2020, did the government pay people more than two or three times their salaries to stay home than to work? I think not. Remember, when progressives were pushing for $2,000 a monthly stimulus checks on top of $600 per week enhanced unemployment benefits? Had progressives prevailed, inflation would be significantly worse now.

I want fewer jobs. Most jobs, and thereby the goods and services associated with them, shouldn’t exist

Yup. “The U.S. economy saw record job growth over the past year, but a lot of regular folks apparently didn't get the memo. A new poll from a progressive data firm finds 35% of voters believe the country is experiencing more job losses than usual.”

The Democrats know this and yet let the right wing control the message. When will they ever learn?

I don’t see how that chart is dishonest. And here’s another chart, showing Biden is almost back to the February 2020 peak. And Trump’s 48 months don’t look that impressive - it’s a straight trend line dating back to Obama’s recovery.

Jobs “created” by a POTUS. Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Does anyone on this forum understand how the economy really works?

np. It's dishonest because these are all jobs previously lost due to the pervasive stay at home orders by states and localities, completely not the fault of Trump at all. At least prior to covid, trump had organic job creation.

Not anything that was out of the norm as the line graph shows. And as much as he talked about coal and manufacturing those job numbers went down.

Who cares? It was still organic growth. Total amount of jobs were increasing. Meanwhile we're still at 2019 employment levels in 2022. A high rate of jobs "added" after a catastrophic amount of job losses isn't really any jobs "added" at all. Do you really not see the difference??

Again. “Recall in 2020 the experts were saying it would take until 2025 to recover, assuming COVID was in the rear view mirror.” We’re almost there now, with historically low unemployment numbers. I think some of us don’t think the alternative would have gotten us there.
