I could go on and on. Give theirs little boys guns and force their little girls to promise their purity to their fathers but God forbid a few clips of children at drag shows get passed around Twitter. They’ll scream and protest and pass laws for that.

Jen might be pathetic but some of these church folk she left behind are even worse.

Many churches work for all the causes you listed above. Why isn’t BIG SASS virtue signaling about those things?? Because everyone is a victim, everyone except children. Hire a clown then to read to your children. Drag originated in clubs, time and place matter. Leave kids alone.

Jen is getting push back on her post, at least on Instagram. I follow “a girl named Blake” on IG, and she has a post explaining what the Tennessee bill says. It makes sense to me.

Yes to all of this! Pastors have done more damage to kids and families than drag queens.

I came here to see who this person even is…….so much time spent on her.

So the governor of Tennessee is allowed to wear drag on school property but if he dared pulled out a book and started reading to students *horror*.

Laws for thee and not for me.

I believe the drag ban is a ridiculous overreach. Should we ban Taylor Swift next for prancing around in lingerie on stage?

Um, have you ever been to a drag show? Or a drag story hour? Because I have been to lots and they are pure camp and theater. The equivalent of dudes wearing Halloween costumes. Nothing sexualized, just fun. If anything they are kind of corny. Yes, raunchier drag shows exist but those are kept to adult clubs. Everything I’ve seen has been very PG.

If you don’t think that there are raunchy drag shows with kids attending then you have not been paying attention…. Join twitter and you can see. It’s not trending in a good direction

I am basing this on real-world experience. Are you? It doesn’t sound like it.

I would bet I’ve been to more drag shows than most of us in here. Everyone one I’ve been to would not be something I’d take a young child to. The clips going around social media are par for the course for this entertainment. There are just somethings that aren’t appropriate for children. But then again I don’t think many minds will be changed around this.

Yes! As the mom of a young girl I’m a lot more worried about the larger cultural pressures to be hot/sexy and objectification of women - which is EVERYWHERE, EVERY DAY - than drag queens, which despite the fear-mongers’ claims, are not taking over our towns. They don’t just pop up and start twerking at the pumpkin patch, people.

I’ve been to tons of drag shows, at night and in the daytime. I’ve heard a few innuendos during between-song banter, but otherwise they’ve been very tame. Just dudes singing in wigs and fabulous outfits.

OK well don’t do it then. Problem solved. Why do we need to spend legislative time on this again?

Why is it always men or former men that get all the attention. Everyone talks about Drag Queens while Drag Kings are virtually ignored. Everyone talks about trans women while trans men are again virtually ignored.

How many trans women lead women organizations compared to trans men who have authority in any male institutions?

Call me a bigot if you want but I’m concerned about this. Women are a protected class for a reason. You shouldn’t be able to just self-identify in it. Just like we all gave Rachel Dolezal crap for identifying as Black. Yes social constructs exist but they have history and meaning for a reason.

With all that said, I still DISAGREE with the drag ban.

It’s misogyny that’s why, and now it’s protected misogyny under the Gay banner so no one dare call it what it actually is.

So Jen has way more followers on FB than IG, yet a ton more comments on IG. Why does she delete the negative on FB but not IG? Also, has anyone paid attention to how her followers counts have changed over time?

Wow, the amount of people on her latest breakfast post that have no clue about chili oil is…something. They act like she’s telling them it’s the second coming.

Rick Barnes post— good guy. Undoubtedly cringes at what both what’s her face and douche biker poser have become. Barnes is about as strait laced traditional WSM as they come. Doubt he loves her giving him props.
