Y’all are tripping about drag queens and the “sexualisation” of children. No one sexualizes children more than fundies tbh.

Drag can be sexual but it doesn’t have to be. Men have been dressing up as women for centuries in theater and other art forms.

I am skeptical of drag queens because for an art that is supposed to celebrate women, they actively gatekeep women from participating (where are the drag Kings???) and use way too much mockery of women in performance. But the “what about the children” paranoia is laughable and an obvious distraction tactic from more pressing political issues!

Tyler especially, I didn’t realize drag was at the top of the Black activism list. I would’ve thought initiatives to reduce intimate partner violence among Black women, medical and legal malpractice against Black citizens and other life and death issues might benefit from your platform.

Um, have you ever been to a drag show? Or a drag story hour? Because I have been to lots and they are pure camp and theater. The equivalent of dudes wearing Halloween costumes. Nothing sexualized, just fun. If anything they are kind of corny. Yes, raunchier drag shows exist but those are kept to adult clubs. Everything I’ve seen has been very PG.

If you don’t think that there are raunchy drag shows with kids attending then you have not been paying attention…. Join twitter and you can see. It’s not trending in a good direction

Some of the clips going around are horrifying not at all innocent camp. I feel though that no amount of evidence will convince people of what is really going on. They won’t listen. There are deeper and darker forces at play.

I am basing this on real-world experience. Are you? It doesn’t sound like it.

Yup these people would rather criminalize the gays than take a real stand against abusive foster care, child marriage (legal in 43 states) or the trafficking of minors. I could go on and on. Give theirs little boys guns and force their little girls to promise their purity to their fathers but God forbid a few clips of children at drag shows get passed around Twitter. They’ll scream and protest and pass laws for that.

Jen might be pathetic but some of these church folk she left behind are even worse.

These examples are on the parents and venues’ vetting and marketing. It’s just like screening the movies your kids watch. Our local bookstore’s drag story hour is dudes dressed as book characters reading in an animated way. It’s fun. Would I take my kid to a gay bar drag show like the idiots in these clips? Hell no.
