2028 Girls Lacrosse

The parents from BLC were reluctant to commute across the bridge, but you think girls from Baltimore and North would come to Capital? The Maryland lacrosse scene is a lot different from the militant ship that capital runs. Those families wouldn’t be interested in signing the massive parent handbook. If players are leaving copppermine, they will find a team in their own state.

This whole forum conversation is a bizarre take

Wasn’t a Capital Orange player added after tryouts?

This is a bizarre take.

Seems sarcastic?

The Cap handbook holds the player accountable for the good of the team. My kid signed it and we support what it stands for. Players are all held to the same standard. She understands she can’t miss practice or tournaments — or she’ll be benched. She also agrees she’ll be her own advocate if she has questions about the team. Exact same standards college coaches demand of their players. Good preparation for what Cap players will encounter at the next level. Puts a wall between parents and coaches and club directors and forces the player to address issues herself (rather than relying on mom or dad). If you think that’s “militant,” you should have a serious / honest convo with your kid about what life is like playing at the college level (and whether she’s ready for it).

I did not make the “militant” comment but Capital does not allow its players to miss practices for prospect days or showcases. I know this has been grumbled about by many current and former parents but I agree that to date Capital has delivered on recruiting. We will see if that trend continues with the ‘28 team and beyond.

Have heard rumors about this as well. No idea if it is true.

Coppermine - Contact Coach Megan for opportunities.
Hero’s - Ha Ha

If you don’t make Stars you can at least try for Pride and if that doesn’t work then Skywalkers and Capital are options.

I am not sure who Coach Megan is, but coppermine is accepting players immediately, according to their instagram page.

This is helpful. I don’t think Hero’s does tryouts anymore.

Be careful there, ask a lot of questions, word on the street is Coppermine is completely falling apart

This is true.

What’s causing Coppermine to disband? Curious what’s going on there?

Lot's of factors. It's been a slow shift. Not impossible that they'll pull it back together in some way, but definitely hanging in the balance.

Good chance you'll have an idea how things will go for the '28s with the '27 class. Isn't there a history of just being benched for a half or just 1 game of a tournament? Sounds like a decent tradeoff if there are places to be.

Ha. Would like to know how someone would be able to know who the best two girls on Cap Blue are and that they would leave. More trolling….

Coppermine is disbanding because they lost all four games in LAX for the Cure. This is unacceptable when you play teams in the top 8 and you are a lowly 11th ranked team. The players, coaches and parents should just give up now.

At least they haven’t lost to Capital 😂
