It's the Economy Stoopid

The Labor Department reported Thursday that jobless claims dropped to 385,000, down 20,000 from the week before. The number of weekly applications for unemployment aid, which generally reflects the pace of layoffs, has fallen steadily all year, though it remains high by historical standards.”

They’ve started cutting off benefits and changing requirements.

Hilarious to hear Republicans trying to claim the economy is doing poorly while sitting here looking at the $25k I invested in NVidia stock when Biden got into office now worth close to $100k, along with a bunch of other stocks that are also doing quite well. I've gotten a couple hundred k richer since Biden got into office.

Why is it always the incompetent and lying Republicans who come here to whine about bullshit.

Let’s just be clear- Republicans are admitting to being poop heads with the economy by this move.

The strategy folks is to project all of your vices and flaws as the vices and flaws of the other party, such that your constituents are distracted while you take their money.

LOL. It’s ironic that these Republicans want Biden to undo Trump’s work. Why doesn’t the article list some of the tariffs Trump set? One I’m familiar with is his 20% tariff on lumber imports. That partly caused the 300% rise in lumber cost this past winter and spring. Also he put a tariff on semi conductor chips and we do not make them in the United States. Hence the shortage of new cars. Trump never thought out his decisions and did not surround himself with astute advisers.

He did a lot of dumb things that just happened to be in the interest of China and Russia. Most semi conductors are made in Taiwan - a tarriff hurts only the US and Taiwan.

He’s not an idiot. He’s owned.

+1
How many times did we have to hear that Trump was “tough on China”? Nope. He did what China, Russia and what anyone else asked. Guy was a traitor in so many ways.

Just noting that for 4 years, people in this thread were equating the Dow with "the economy"

The DOW is down 750 points right now because of COVID fears.

The ONLY reason COVID is an issue in the US currently is because the overwhelming percentage of GOP adherents refusal to take the damned vaccine.

This is such a cynical ploy to undermine the US and the Biden administration.
