Americans need to realize that Trump and his MAGA team are the equivalent of Bolsheviks or Maoists. That’s who destroys national symbols, like the White House, universities, and purges museums. They are pretty much on the verge of controlling all media in this country.

This building was built in the 40's? Has any study done or measures been taken to mitigate the asbestos that almost certainly was used in construction? What about the lead paint that was likely used?

Polls have shown many Americans are concerned. YouGov polling conducted Tuesday found that 53 percent opposed demolishing part of the East Wing, 23 percent supported it and the remainder were unsure. YouGov also found that 23 percent believed the ballroom will have a positive effect on the White House, 35 percent believed it will have a negative effect, and the remainder were neutral or unsure.

I don't agree, but that's only an opinion.

Do you think that that fact that it will be monstrously larger than the centerpiece of the White House Grounds (the centerpiece being the White House) thus causing the entire complex to be lopsided, not by a little but by a lot, will add to or detract from the overall architectural balance?

I find the Trumplican excuses on this thread for the ballroom to be fascinating. Trumplicans rarely weigh in on threads on this forum about the economy, the bailout of Argentina, the loss of income for farmers, Trump's falling poll numbers, etc. etc. but all of a sudden they are animated by a discussion about a 90,000 gold ballroom! That's what has offended them this week.
