2025 Boys Private School Results /Game Schedules/ Commentary

The problem at Prep is not the AD, its rather the coaching.

Prep didn't improve that much as the course of season played out. And Prep wasn't that young of a team last year either, they had plenty of higher caliber seniors who played significant minutes on their championship 2023 squad.

While they had some impressive wins last Spring, they were dominated and looked completely shell-shocked against Landon in the championship game.

I do agree with you when you look at the bigger picture, Prep will always remain very competitive in the DC area (top 5 in the area)

The campus, its impressive facilities, and its academics are stellar so that in itself will naturally attract lacrosse players. Its college signees historically are always impressive too.

Some earlier poster talked about how many coaches are at Landon as teachers. That's such a massive advantage for long term consistency. SJC, Prep, Bullis - none have that kind of on campus manpower.

Anyone hear who is taking the O Coordinator position at St. John’s?

Should be announced soon.

Very good coach hired.

St. John’s revealed new coach. Many will agree it’s a big upgrade.

Interesting career choice. Did he get a job in the DC area and this will be a part-time thing?

Does it kill anyone to actually name them here? It's not like SJC doesn't have multiple social media accounts that show nothing.

Based on his bio (he does have a MA in Education) I assume this will be a full-time role at SJC. The cost of living in the DC area is 3x what it is in Jacksonville so don't see how anyone would make a major career move like this with out it being a full time gig.

My guess is Coach Granelli was burnt out from the rigors of D1 coaching and was looking for a change of pace.

What is interesting to me is his collegiate coaching background is more impressive than Speaks.

Now that IL has started rollout of 3-5 star 2026s will be interesting to see how local schools and clubs compare.

I’m starting to think these star rankings are pointless and really just a marketing ploy.

Prep for example had more 3 - 4 star players than any team in the area last year, and they stunk at the end of the season.
