Must be a good player. Probably works hard.

I'm sure the attack(s) he displaced are really happy. The SJC way.
No way its a full displacement. SJC is weakest depthwise at midfield. The kid probably plays some attack but Id bet a lot he plays more offensive midfield. More likely to draw a shorty and looking at the kids highlights, he doesn't play crease or x, he's an alley or wing guy which is also better coming from midfield. Just another offensive weapon for Speaks and probably frees up their BU and Maryland commits some by making defenses play them more man than zone.

Playing midfield. Don’t worry yourself.

DC area private takes in transfer. Water is wet.

Only a big deal because it’s St. John’s.

Spring of 2025 will likely be one of the last elite years at Bullis for a while unless they do something with the staff.

Their 2025 class is loaded, and having a top 3 player in their class, Jackson Mahar ain't too shabby either. By and large, Bullis 2025 class is loaded due to Darren Anzelone who helped establish DC Express in our area. His youngest son will be graduating next Spring and he certainly helped push a number of great lacrosse players to Bullis.

IAC next Spring will likely be a battle between Landon and Bullis with Prep acting as the spoiler.

Agree…Pepe won’t be in the big picture this year. Their relevance is teetering in the future as well. With the amount of boarders being limited, they may actually have to do some more local recruiting or it’s off to the WCAC if they keep doing the increased boarders.

Not sure I follow your comment "its off to the WCAC if they keep doing the increased boarders"

While Prep has dorms, the majority of its students are day students, I believe anywhere between 74% - 80%.

I know Prep just recently built a new dormitory with state-of-the-art amenities, but unless there are plans to construct even more dorms, I don't see the ratio between days students to boarding students really changing too drastically.

The problem at GP is the AD. He insists on thinking the school sits above the rest and shouldn't sully itself by trying to attract local athletes by showing them any kind of attention. Urick takes his lead from him. That said, they'll be fine. Urick knows everyone in the college ranks and lacrosse only needs about 5-6 players per class to be at the top in this area. They were 2nd in the IAC this year, had 3 freshman on the team, have the 2nd best attack in the area and still had about 40 kids playing JV. They'll be competitive regardless of who the coach or AD is for a very long time.

Prep has underperformed for years.

What are you talking about?

They dominated in the Spring of 2023.

Last year, they made it to the IAC finals and lost to a very good Landon squad.

The Hoyas won the IAC outright in Spring of 2021 which was the weird covid season where they played all IAC teams 3x and won the league outright again in 2023 with Kabari and Burns.

What do you mean the program has underperformed?

Given the size of the student body, the quality of players and the facilities, Prep should be dominating but it never seems to fully come together for the Little Hoyas.

There is a team down the street not impressed.
