Is he defending her?

DP it sounds like he is trying not to comment on McKnight specifically. Keeps talking about how a lot of people are at fault, both sides, it's the school board's job.

Meaning there are people who want McKnight fired and people who don't. It's the school board's job to decide if they want to fire her.

He said students walked out in protest because she is popular with students. ???

That has to be a bold-faced lie. I don’t know of any students, other than the SMOB and other kids involved in countywide SGA, who care about her.

Yeah that is BS. Most couldn’t name the superintendent if their graduation depended on it. It may be that the activist set like her but they are a tiny percentage.

I'd like to know where, which HS, the protest happened? Some students just need an excuse to leave school whether they support her or not.

Not a very effective or large walkout if it wasn't even reported by the press

If students walk out and the press doesn't cover it, did the walk out really happen?

However big it was, it was another disruption to MCPS caused by her misfeasance.

Now might be a good time for one of the reporters reading this site to check in with Dr. McKnight’s lawyer to see if the board has provided her with reasons for her termination.

I would actually put the squeeze on April Key and Brian Hull. They know what happened, and someone also knows which employee refused to answer questions to the investigation. My guess is that it was McKnight who clammed up.

The board already knows who clammed up. They got a full copy of the report not just the public letter. The person who clammed up still works there.

The council should call them to oversight hearing.

And they should put everyone under oath so Dr. McKnight & senior staff can't do the usual MCPS trick of lying to the council.

Yes, but we, the public, don’t know for certain who actually clammed up. Which begs the question: where is the transparency there, then? If indeed it was McKnight then it would make things a lot easier to push her out, really. For now, it’s all wild speculation, and that makes things worse. We don’t know whom to trust. And that is a dysfunctional and chilling situation. (And untenable, in the short- and long-term.)
