Board wants Monifa to step down

The fact that the superintendent is not currently conducting media interviews probably means that a separation agreement is being negotiated with the BOE.

Or just that she realizes how bad the tv interview she did with her lawyer was.

That was painful to watch and did nothing to help her.

I doubt she realized it on her own, but maybe somebody in her circle had the good sense to tell her and she listened.

You mean other Black female middle school principals employed in the same school district? Where is Burnett County anyway? The 9 pages of thank yous led me to skimming the dissertation but I couldn’t find the state name

Given the culture of cover ups for each other, is anyone looking into the other principals that were in Beidleman’s Doctoral cohort?

Where are Jason Berg and Yolanda Allen now?

Jason Berg is an assistant principal at Gaithersburg ED and Yolanda Allen was "promoted" to central office.

Yolanda Allen is an executive director in the Office of Deputy Superintendent. Thanks for checking that Wa Po link.

Let's remember the people that are still out there teaching (and other staff working) for years in hostile work environments. I hope the county council focuses on the backlog of complaints that were ignored, dropped, and mishandled. We need an institutionalized response that never allows a DCI to work in darkness.

Monifa McKnight's personal concern about her job loss recedes in the face of all this. And, this is on Jack Smith and maybe Josh Starr too. DCI's mess didn't start in 2018.

And why does McKnight's action plan on preserving emails for three years, instead of one year, not take effect until the second week in February? What's up with that?

Is that the time of the next Board meeting? Or that's when she plans to step down as she has already been asked?

No way she steps down now. This will be dragged out. Bet she makes it through the school year and then they mutually part ways and we'll have an interim super for 2024-2025.

Ugh. Do we really want McKnight to be the one filling the 19+ principal positions, right before she's shown the door?

I guess if a majority of the board really wants her to go, they could simply vote no on all of her recommended appointments, which would leave acting principals in place until a new superintendent is named.

We don't, but that's exactly what's going to happen.
