Jen Hatmaker

First, Texas Barbie is such a MISOGYNISTIC label. Yes, Tina looks INCREDIBLE but don’t reduce her to some plastic bimbo. And DO NOT make Jen feel bad just because she looks like a normal woman and not Tina.

I always took Texas Barbie to be a complimentary nickname. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If I look that good at 50, you can call me Texas Barbie all day long!

Also, Barbie is no bimbo. Have you seen all of the careers she’s managed over several decades? Teacher, scientist, vet, etc.

I am half Filipina, my mother’s family a victim of white American colonialism from the early 1900s.

That’s just history and important to understand.

But not once in my criticism of Tyler in 2022 have I thought to retract my points due to concerns about addressing white supremacy. Who thinks like this? Unintelligent unimaginable people with very narrow views of the world.

Bad shitty behavior is just bad shitty behavior.

Yeah I don’t think any of us were trying to bring a black man down so much as trying to call out a player who has left a trail of evidence that he’s up to no good and just not that into Jen.

Some are here for the train wreck gawking. Some are here because we loved Jen at her best and can’t for the life of us figure out her current moves and missteps…

This could be the title for this entire board! All 400+ pages. Jen’s bad shitty behavior. Brandon’s. Tyler’s. The friends who aren’t intervening. And the occasional poster who slings unwarranted insults and accusations (here’s looking at you ALL-CAPS LADY)

Another LCMS person here. After years of discouragement and church hopping, we've been here 12 years and so thankful. We wish we had raised all our kids here. No nonsense, no random sermons, solid sound orthodox teaching, no cultishness and NO make myself happy stuff. Beautiful music and all sorts of people coming together to worship God. Nobody has had a new thought in 500 years thank God!!
Seriously, we are not deconstructing here. We are grateful for the wisdom of those who came before us.

This is such a ridiculous post.

So many dumb unrelated arguments!

We are all going to have so much fun pulling this apart over the best few days!

It seems that just for being in the vicinity of a Jen Hatmaker conversation, the words “next few days” went ahead and autocorrected to “best few days” 😅

🤣😂

STOP trying to bring a BLACK MAN down just because you are AGAINST interracial relationships doesn’t mean that what Jen and Tyler have to CARE. In FACT, Jen SUPPORTING Tyler’s career could be considered a form of REPARATIONS (look it up!), NOT a sign that their relationship is a PR stunt. If their relationship is UNEQUAL, it is to make up for HUNDREDS of years of WHITE SUPREMACY.

Black woman here, married to a white man. Chimed in earlier today, and also in earlier pages, hoping Jen would dump Tyler and do better, because I think she can. If it’s a better man who is white, great. If it’s a better man who is black, also great. I am currently laughing out loud at the notion that my husband marrying me or supporting my career could ever in any way be spun (by even a crazy individual) to suggest that it is reparations to make up for hundreds of years of white supremacy. Bless your heart. I would bet all the cash in my wallet that those enthusiastically-capitalized statements were spewed by a white lady who thinks we need her coming to our defense. Us black gals know we aren’t victims needing reassurances from white relationships. I married a person, not his skin. Hopefully Tyler doesn’t think Jen is dating him because she feels guilty about their ancestors’ history. What a weird take on the matter. Did I bless your heart already?

Boom. This. 100%. Your cheap race bating post has now been utterly destroyed.

LEARN how to READ. Just because SOME of you CLAIM not to SEE race does NOT mean RACISM does NOT influence SOME people’s negative BIAS towards Tyler. If this does NOT apply to you, MOVE along!

OH and this LONG trail of EVIDENCE that Tyler is NOT a good BOYFRIEND?! I’ve YET to SEE anything.

OH and Jen’s FRIENDS are NOT allowed to DEFEND her now without being DISMISSED?? ONLY people with NO connection to Jen can have an OPINION??

It’s taken it’s cue from Jen’s posts that everything is just the Best Ever.

“Texas Barbie” is high praise in my book.

Jen, help your friend out. Her caps button keeps gettin’ stuck. (And I mean that in more ways than one)

Agreed. She looks great, and it's a complimentary and accurate descriptor of her appearance. She's very "done" in a Texas way but not overdone. I wouldn't be surprised if she's referred to herself as such.
I think most people are using this in a positive way, also alluding to the fact this woman is out of Brandon's league.

For the record, I think Jen is very pretty, too.

Jen referenced a beautiful book by a NUN about a schedule of prayer throughout the day- I think in "7". She seemed to get some real peace from the practice in the midst of being a busy mom. I guess I wish Jen would not just rediscover her faith, but maybe look at more structured churches, ones with a church year. The structure creates freedom to serve and worship. I feel like a lot of non-denom churches are kind of winging it unsuccessfully. Or church planters are getting into it for all the wrong reasons and egos destroy it. There is a reason certain denoms/churches have lasted hundreds of years. Schisms happen for sure but the basic structure is very sound.

NGL I feel her "deconstruction" is not serving her mental health well. She needs Jesus. And a better boyfriend who loves sports and meat and her.

The denim jumpsuit. The hat on that pastor. Loving all of this snark.

Is the Reddit thread on her worth it, can anyone say, comparing this to that?

The Reddit sub barely has any action but last week someone posted that Tyler DMd her lewd comments while he was in a relationship with Jen. Supposedly he’s still all over the ladies on insta.

Jen. Dump him.

This guy is garbage.
