Arestovich seems to regret not taking Russian's deal in Istanbul:
“I was a member of the negotiating team, but even I don’t know how it happened that we decided to interrupt the Istanbul talks. I remember after Bucha there was a lot of talk that now we can’t, but the Russian side kept insisting on peace initiatives. And the Istanbul peace initiatives were very good. They only said that NATO is a red line for them. But whether NATO would accept us or not, but now 300,000 would be alive and half of Ukraine would not be destroyed and mined. We made concessions, but the sum of their concessions was greater. They agreed to political discussions on Crimea!” – Arestovich stated. That seems to now be another disclosure of the scale of Ukrainian casualties. |

Reminder - Ukrainians never expected nor wanted this war. They did not believe US intelligence warnings that this war was coming. They could not believe that their neighbors with so many ties would behave in such a way. Their entire society has been turned upside down by the criminal invasion by Russia.
It is rich to try and blame the current dysfunction on them. It is also tragic for Russians who now face even more restrictions on the information they are allowed access to. Many ordinary Russians were not aware of the extent of Putin’s lies, misrepresentations and that Ukrainians did not welcome their illegal invasion. Praying for peace for this nation and for innocents on both sides. |

Community note says this is not true. Just like your previous fake nonsense about things like Zelenskyy buying to multimillion dollar yachts. You keep posting fake BS over and over and over again. Please just stop. It just makes you look like a dishonest fool. |

There is no doubt Ukrainians have suffered enormous casualties. Maybe not as bad as Russians, who are losing almost a 1000 a day in places like Avdiivka.
The Russians have Crimea and most of Donbass. Which they've had since 2014. Ukrainians have clawed back almost all Russian gains. This is a serious war. Saw a report that indicates that Russians have less than a 4 percent chance of surviving a year on the front. I'm sure it's similar for Ukrainian soldiers. It's a terrible war. An entire generation of men are dying for this. And they are horrible deaths. I don't know. Think Putin might be a bad guy. |
My bad on the fake news here, but the yacht dude is someone else. |
Speaking of BS... Russia would have had to have lost their entire army almost twice over for your 4 percent figure to be even remotely possible. Given what we can guess about Russian force size and casualties, its probably more like a 4 percent chance of dying since the start of the SMO. If you want to see Russian casualties, you can just look here: https://en.zona.media/article/2022/05/20/casualties_eng There was an uptick in October when Russia started pushing on Avdeevka, but it wasn't even 1,000 for the month on all fronts combined. And surely you must realize that if Russia was losing 1,000 a day there, then they wouldn't be winning that battle. |
I would assume the poster was talking about front line troops. If Russia has a tooth to tail ratio of 1:4; likely higher. That means if they have 1M troops in Ukraine, only 200k are front line. That 4% still seems way too low. Maybe it refers to shock infantry troops…that number for them may be realistic from the evidence out there. Russia sends waves of infantry with little to no armor support. These troops are basically bait to determine Ukrainian positions. |
Trump would literally hand over to Putin ANYTHING under pretext of peace. Next would be Alaska. I can guarantee you that. |
Alaska, I hear that place is full of Eskimos, not Americans. Some people tell me that since they were here before America they maybe, probably, can’t count as Americans. I’m not saying that, but that’s what I hear and maybe they are right. Alaska is just ice, and who needs more ice. I think I could strike the greatest deal with the Russians. Sell them all that ice for vodka. I could ensure every man, woman, and child has a bottle of vodka under the tree just in time for Christmas. It would be the greatest vodka they ever had, lots of gold coloring on the label and a baby Jesus for my evangelical supporters. Imagine how great my deal would be. Sell ice and some maybe non-Americans to Russia for all the vodka we can drink. Some people are already calling it the greatest deal ever made, maybe better than ending slavery I’ve heard, that was great but this is maybe better from what people are saying. Vodka for all, nobody believed it until I did it! |
Completely false dichotomy. Ukrainians are fighting for a reason, and it has nothing to do with Biden or the US. Life for Ukrainians under Russian occupation has been absolutely horrible. That's a fact. They know this. They are fighting for their own freedom, their own survival, this is an existential fight for Ukraine. Trump and Putin and the Russian propagandists are too stupid to understand this. |
That's completely false. UK and other intelligence services have independently confirmed a high in daily numbers of Russian casualties near 1000 at Avdiivka. Only 1000 troops lost in Russia in a month is absolute laughable delusion. |
Mediazona's info is solely based on info released by or confirmed by Russian government sources. They are greatly undercounting deaths. |
The Russian trolling on this thread is getting really bad. I guess they sent all the good trolls to die in Ukraine. |
