In the posts about Trump's cabinet selections, there has been almost universal condemnation by liberals of just about all his nominations.
I don't understand the rationale for this: of course, Trump has been selecting conservatives for the most part who would not be the choice of liberals. But this is not any different than when Obama selected his cabinet or Supreme Court nominations - he selected individuals who shared his political philosophy. Are there any nominations or appointments by Trump that liberals feel represent qualified individuals even if they don't agree with their conservative leanings? |
They're still mad because it was "her time" - but she got rejected. |

This has nothing to do with them being conservative.
Heck, this has nothing to do with their lack of substantive and managerial experience. Rather, this has to do with the fact that he has picked people who are philosophically opposed to the very mission of the agency they will lead: a climate change denier for EPA, a charter school champion for Ed, and a crazy person who believes subsidized housing is communism and fair housing laws are social engineering for HUD. Plus, he's picked people who are known (and seemingly proud) racists for other key posts. If you can't understand why people---both liberals and conservatives alike---are concerned, then you should probably try harder. |
Too many ex military/generals. Is Trump planning a military coup? If this doesn't scare you, you must be brain dead! |
Oh, look, it's the million poster! |
The cabinet is a shitshow, with a few exceptions. |
I love his cabinet picks thus far. I think these are folks who will get things done.
And, if you think having generals as part of the cabinet equates to a military coup, you have little respect for what members of the military can bring to the government. These folks are disciplined, knowledgeable, patriotic, and have incredible work ethics. Couldn’t be more pleased. |
Perhaps he's tired of your people who don't know how to get things done. |
Exactly. Thank you. |
They also tend to be chauvinistic and tolerate inappropriate behavior...like MST. |
How many countries where the military has taken over democratically elected governments turned them into military dictatorships? Yrump would love to have a coronation not an inaugiration. A lot With the ultra conservative FBI, CIA and ex rabid generals, thank God for a few liberals. Their patriotisn scares the hell out of me. |
Somehow the Military leaders are seen as threatening, but the lifelong, I'd sell my own mother into slavery to get elected/reelected career politicians are the noble and sage leaders. ![]() |
Caring about your country is quite scary. They probably like apple pie too. ![]() |
If that happens, you hyperventilating liberals can thank us second amendment nuts for protecting your behinds from the tyranny of such a government. Seriously, can you hear yourself? |
