There isn't just one, two, three, or even just a few people who think the whole CTCL thing is stupid. Most people who encounter the acronym and the desperate boosterism find it all a little gauche and cringey.

I have heard a couple of people use it in real life. One was our private college counselor. The other was a parent on our school listserv. She mentioned something about a college she had attended and then mentioned that it was a CTCL school.

No one brought up "CTCL" in the business schools thread. Someone did suggest schools which happen to be among the CTCL schools, but no one said "look at CTCL" or anything remotely like that.
