She has already said she has none, and disagrees with any effort to recall school board members.

This doesn't add up. She is on the steering committee of APE. APE is working on a recall. How is she not involved?

Because APE as an organization isn’t working on a recall. People who happen to also be members of APE may be working on a recall (although it’s not clear that even that is happening), but that is in their individual capacities, not on behalf of APE.

This isn’t a winning talking point for Mary’s campaign. Give it up.

After reading this thread that derailed many, many pages ago, I'm thinking that everyone in Smart Restart and APE need to take a weekend off and pay loving attention to their kids, who when not pulled out as props in a zero sum game, sit alone at home while their parents play whose the bully(TM) on the internet.

There is a middle that doesn't think much of any of you.

Also shout out to the teachers who commented several pages ago. SR and APE who think they are speaking for you. Thank you for making my children's school year a little more bright under these circumstances, in spite some crazy a%% parents.

This. Both sides have gone nuts. They don’t speak for me or almost anyone else I know and talk to in Arlington every day. Most people are normal and rational, and they certainly aren’t obsessively posting on FB or Twitter and doxxing and bullying other people. This is not normal behavior. How did we end up here with these two groups of people claiming to represent the spectrum of Arlington parents on return to school issues?

I’m a newer member of APE so maybe I’ve missed something. But I haven’t seen anything too far out there posted in the FB group. It just seems like a group of parents who see their kids struggling with distance learning and want to push the SB to reopen more days. I honestly think the only reason we even have the 2 days and kids getting off the waitlist from virtual is because of people speaking out at meetings and writing letters?

What exactly about this group do you consider an extreme on the spectrum? Because I see my six year old struggle every day. A kid who used to love school now cries at having to sit inside on the iPad and misses his friends. It is hard as a parent to watch your child struggling and not want to advocate for them. I feel like most people on this board are in agreement that K-2 kids really should be getting more in-person education time. So what other organization do you suggest I join to advocate for this? Because all I’ve really seen is APE and the members seem to have reasonable concerns about Dr. Duran and the SB.

Still trying to make that stick, huh?

Many, many people dislike APE. Too many irrational bullies.

Just like “APE’s” lawsuit and recall. Got it.

See, I don’t take offense at that because I’m not part of APE. Granted, I may think you are foolish or lacking in reading comprehension since it’s been affirmatively demonstrated that the lawsuit was not filed by APE (and i have not seen any official recall petition, but APE or otherwise), but that doesn’t upset me in any way.

Now the Twitter accounts, on the other hand, most definitely do exist, and SR has yet to denounce them. Indeed SR leadership and prominent members follow them, like and retweet their tweets, and even share their tweets on AEM. Seems like an endorsement to me.

What’s this nonsense about a recall? I recently joined APE and see nothing about it other than a few stray comments now and then. But bigger question is why do people act like a recall is so offensive? Or a FOIA for that matter? Why are these all sensitive topics? And I agree with PP that the Twitter troll stuff is much more concerning and we all saw who is following and promoting those accounts.

It’s a bunch of made-up drama by SR. They like their alternative facts.

I don’t think “APE” is responsible for the lawsuit. And as far as we know SR isn’t responsible for the Twitter account. It could be one of many different people.

I’m not part of SR but I “take offense” because you’re attributing it to them with no evidence. Which is just as shitty as attributing all things that APE supporters do to APE.

The whitesplain comment was perfect.

Does she ever self-reflect? Or is she completely oblivious to everything people are saying to her?

I think both sides need to look in the mirror before they accuse the other of using POC as tools in this debate. Neither had clean hands here.

Who are these “both sides”? I didn’t realize you could lump together all Arlington parents into only two groups.

Nice deflection.

Explain "both sides". Who is accusing who?
