APS - School Shifts in the Fall?

Anonymous
Both APE and SR claim to speak for a wide range of Arlington parents. Their steering committees have both claimed to have met individually with APS and state leaders to further their goals. Most, if not all of us commenting here will never have that kind of access.

I agree with the poster above that’s it is a zero sum game, and we are all caught in the middle. I don’t want either of these groups speaking on behalf of me.

I hope they become irrelevant in the Fall.

It’s a bunch of made-up drama by SR. They like their alternative facts.

Don't see how it's made up when there is a screenshot of APE member EHN posting to OpenFCPS saying "Arlington Parents for Education is considering a recall effort" can you help, etc.

Plus there are screenshots from within their APE group of them planning the recall efforts.

I'm not condoning putting screenshots out there in general. But they are out there. And they sure are eye-opening.

Yea there was one post of folks considering it and ultimately decided not to because it’s a distraction and not worthwhile endeavor. But again why is this so triggering?

This Twitter is now locked, although someone has screenshotted it and now I’ve seen them too. What’s more fascinating are the followers of this account. All sr activists. It’s a troll account made to make APE look bad out of context and MK look like the better candidate.

MK is going to lose if SR keeps amping up the drama to 11.

LOL, that account has been private for days. If you can still see it, then you’re one of its SR followers.

I know I’m in the super minority here, but it doesn’t bother me that APE’s screenshots were shared. It wouldn’t bother me if SR’s screenshots were shared, which probably also have their share of embarrassing things. Nothing is ever truly private on the internet and it’s not like they revealed state secrets. I’m more concerned about the substance of some of those communications, not the manner in which they were made public. If any follower used their real identity to follow the account, I can’t imagine they’d care that those screenshots of those likes or follows would bother them. At least they shouldn’t.

I was laughing more because posters (here and elsewhere) swear that no one from SR ever reads, let alone posts on, DCUM. But then they do stuff like this and it’s obvious that they do.

PP here, I have no doubt that SR folks post here. I think the boards are full of APE and SR posters. I’m not a member of either SR or APE and I’m just not feeling the uproar about the Twitter account of whether one sprung up against SR. Just bigger fish to fry I guess, but YMMV.

I think the Twitter account wouldn’t have been such a big deal if a SR member hadn’t made the legal but ethically-dubious decision to FOIA the original request for MK’s emails, post it to the anonymous Twitter account to encourage doxxing, promote those tweets on AEM, and then lie about it when caught.

I’m just amused that the Tweeter handle wasn’t under the OPs real name. What’s to hide, if they’re so damning. Be a hero and out APE!

Unless they were the doxxing trolls to begin with.

Obvious who does what?

I’m not part of APE or SR. I do read AEM, but never post. I’m happy to call out everyone who acts like a jerk though.

There are tons of us out there who aren’t part of either group - you really think all APS parents fall into one or the other?
