The company announced Friday that anyone cruising through July 21 can now cancel their cruise up to 48 hours in advance. Guests who choose this option will receive a "future cruise credit" good for a future cruise through 2021.

I wonder how much money the cruise lines will bank on people 'forgetting' they have the credits, waiting until the last minute to book and not getting the vacation time they need to take it in specific months.

For all of those on here who have a spring break cruise, in light of today's news, do you think you are more likely to keep your cruise or rebook. If you are rebooking, when are you rebooking for?

Are you worried COVID-19 will still be an issue for the future cruise?

I cruise often, so I won’t lose my money. I will reschedule.

I'd probably go. My big fear is quarantine which is less likely on a trip like this.

I'd be good quarantined in Boston.

How did the father NOT KNOW? Not sure I buy it. Have friends on a ski trip nearby there right now and DO know.

Rumor on the street here in LA is that this was part of a larger group of dads/sons and they all live in different states and have all flown home (and that they all likely have it). We'll see how this develops.

How far out are you going to reschedule? I'm worried it won't be that much better in the future.

How far in advance do you usual have to cancel / change flights to get some credit back? 24 hrs?

France April 5-14? Two adults in our 40’s, a ten year-old with asthma, and a four year old. Upon our return, our 4 year old will return to our routine which includes having my in-laws (both in their 70s) drive her to and from preschool. Cancel? I already know it’ll come to that. Help my DH see that it’s the only logical and ethical thing to do.

Just keep an eye on it. Hawaii might give me pause since the cruise ship that is currently quarantined off the coast of SF went there during this cruise so passengers could have spread the virus in port.

I am more likely to rebook. Up until now, I was in the "we're going unless the cruise is cancelled" camp. Now I'm more prone to cancel and rebook - we may do the same cruise next Spring break. But I'm going to see what the next couple weeks hold.
