What does he expect of men and women who typically serve after bootcamp only one weekend per month and two weeks per year, unless called up to special duty for natural disasters and/or fascist invasions of blue American cities???

These National Guardspeople live in the same obesogenic environment as the rest of America, endure the same stressors of balancing fulltime work (and a second job!) with family obligations, eating crap on the run because nobody has time to cook nourishing whole food meals at home, etc.

Active duty military have more time to hit the gym but still not all that much. Meanwhile they frequently use food banks not just in the time of government shutdowns because the pay is crap - and food bank food is lots of cheap carbs, not lots of lean proteins and fresh fruits and veggies.

Hegseth is a spoiled punk Fox News personality who should be focused on fixing these issues that plague service people's lives instead of mocking and berating them.[/quote]
