I dont think he ever had classes on Fridays. Maybe tutorials, quite frankly I dont know, but he did fly out of often on Fridays and back on Sunday afternoons. Amazing way to explore Europe.

Grad school or a job? US or UK?

Grad school. Going to his 2nd yr at ETH Zurich.

Thanks! Impossible to do a lot better than ETH/Z in CS. ETH/Z play in the big league for CS and they are the CH equivalent to UK's Imperial or US's MIT or Stanford.

Btw, he really ought to take a cryptography course/module at ETH/Z from Kenny Paterson, who absolutely is world-class in that narrow specialty.

You two (you and my son) are speaking gibberish to me…. I will tell him you mentioned this tomorrow when we talk. Thank you! He is loving the course. He said it is super demanding, but he also said he was very well prepared from his undergrad. The plus is he fell in love with Zurich. Could not have asked for 2 more amazing places to spend 6 years (St Andrews and Zurich).

Is this normal for parents to be there during Pier Walk? I know we are still 1 year away, but just wondering. Thank you in advance.

I was just there for pier walk. I’d say there were a few hundred parents there.
