Trump put specific transgenders in school ands and Kamala’s clip discussing her support of sex change operations on illegal Immigrants ads. That’s why he mentioned this random detail during the debate. He placed these ads with lots of heavy airplay specifically in Michigan and in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Those ads were very successful and seen as the most successful ad of the campaign. It moved swing voters to Trump. |
Oh sorry I didn’t act like a good little brown person and vote Democrat like you wanted me to. It’s totally cool that they ignored the protests and Muslim American voters. |
And taking Liz Cheney etc to MI... I love Kamala and am a Dem but they screwed this up. This was a tough no-win situation of alienating voters on both sides but it feels like a big miss. |
Michigan would have fallen to the Republicans regardless of how Dearborn voted. It made no difference in the electoral votes.
Can we please stop playing the blame game here? Besides, I thought the new narrative was that Harris lost due to nationwide concerns about the transgender population and biological males competing in female sports? |
Ultimately the loss isn't due to Muslim and Arab voters. The loss is the result of Biden's failed leadership and Harris's unwillingness or inability to separate herself from that failure.
Why should people have faith in you if you can't draw a line at genocide? That doesn't make Trump better, but the idea that there's any moral clarity on the Democratic side is laughable. These leaders showed themselves to be equally bought and sold by wealthy donors. Their own principles mean nothing in the face of $$$. Biden's continued support of genocide is why Harris lost. |
Harris lost because a lot of people believed misinformation and disinformation online. Some voted badly. Some didn’t vote at all. All of was damaging. Every thread here proves there’s both a lot of disinformation and a lot of people believing it. |
Everyone’s so cute in the search for narrative/ blame. |
This is very interesting, and I appreciate your input, if you are still following. This was my impression, too, but I wasn’t sure. I think what you are observing is true for other communities as well, not just in Michigan. |
Yep, that was my post. It’s an interesting dynamic for sure. That said, the Middle Eastern community is not a monolith. There are great differences between say the Christian Syrians, Lebanese, and Chaldean communities. Also, there is a huge cultural gulf between the Dearborn Lebanese Muslims and the Hamtramck Bangladeshi Muslims. This will be studied for decades to come. |
OK. You weren’t forced to do anything. Own it. |
And now here we are! Good luck, all. |
None of us gets everything that we want from a candidate. You didn’t “show” anyone. You just broadened the suffering. |
+1 as if Trump will be so much better. Ok, there will be a ceasefire. But what’s coming next for Palestinians will be worse. Good luck during this 4 year hunger game we are about to endure. |
Bengalis are not Arab Muslims. I can tell you with almost 100% certainty Arab Muslims would rather hang out with Arab or American Christians and even American Jews Before they hang out with Bengalis, or Somalis, or African American Muslims outside of the mosque. I’m not talking about the kids that go to school and millenials but I’m talking about the old timer Arabs. Islamic solidarity is not real outside of prayers |
This makes no sense. If they aren’t at the mosque practicing then they aren’t really “Muslims”. I have lived in many cities in the US and Muslims usually support each other. Naturally they are attracted to people who speak their first language though but they aren’t nasty towards each other. They are more likely to friend a Muslim vs a non Muslim because there are things are Islam that can be tricky in the US I.e. drinking alcohol etc . |
