I have a feeling we are about to see black people just sit out of politics or even vote republican if that party goes back to normal (pre MAGA). liberal groups always seem to be calling on black women to help and organize but get nothing in return. All of the black content that I am seeing is about going into self preservation mode and withdrawing all of the help.

The Senate map in 2026 also looks terrible for Democrats. They are not winning back the Senate. The House will always be close, but the fact that Democrats are losing upstate NY and non-coastal California doesn't bode well. Progressive policies and their insistence on not having primaries have wrecked the Democratic Party for a good long while.

Explain how it will be different next time. The consequences for that were only because it was so egregious and bystanders filmed it and the story made it into the media and there was a public outcry. But after all that, what change had been made to prevent the next one? Because not everything will have bystanders filming. Look at who owns media these days? If all these billionaires that own media empires are kowtowing to the incoming president before he won the election, how confident do you feel about a story like that coming out now and not being buried in misinformation? And if it makes it to an actual big public outcry, people marching in the streets, how confident do you feel that the “Enemy from within” who incited a riot that attacked officers in the Capitol because he lost in 2020 won’t try to turn either military or national guards on protestors?

I’m in self-preservation mode. At some point people will realize that when someone that hates government and is only out for themselves is the head of government we all suffer. I hope I am wrong. But if you believe that saying “when people show you who they are, believe them”, it’s a better use of my time and energy to be prepared for the chaos.
