She was part of the inner circle MAGA, a$$hats. She's only being attacked now b/c you don't like what she has to say.

She is being attacked because she is a well rehearsed probably paid liberal shill to embellish what she thinks she heard. If she lied about lunging for the car wheel, just imagine what else she is lying about.

A paid liberal shill who worked for Steve Scalise and then was an aide to Mark Meadows and worked 50 feet away from Trump's oval office. Maybe you could undermine your credibility a little more?

She was recruited by the left and her testimony was well rehearsed. Cannot wait to find records of payments she received. Lying to congress is a felony. Wonder how she will look in Orange. It is the new black you know!

You must have absolutely nothing factual at all to use a legitimate defense if this is what your trying to spin! Haha!

+1

She killed any chance she had at a career in R politics after this. Why on EARTH would she just make all of this up AND risk a felony charge?

I am pretty sure the only reason she was testifying prior to this was because she feared jail time. And my best guess of why they had her testify yesterday was because one of the witnesses being intimidated by these mob style "loyalty" notes was her.

You are dumb. Very dumb. There's an entire landscape of Republicans behind the scenes that want Trump gone. We've heard it for years. The goal here is to wrest control of the party back to relatively normal Republican ideals. The trick is getting rid pf Trump without attacking him and alienating the base. What Liz Cheney has been promised in the future for becoming the face of this movement, I don't know. But you are very naive if you think this is some random staffer coming forward without assurances that she has a future.

I'm not the poster you responded to, and I know a lot of Republicans want to wrest their party away from Trump, but they've been trying since the 2016 Presidential campaign, and so far it hasn't worked well, has it? I DO NOT believe this staffer, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, or any other Republican involved in these hearings were promised anything, or are motivated by anything except wanting to tell their truth and try to persuade others that this Jan 6th event was planned by Trump and could have had ended in a successful coup. Which is why so many people REFUSED to testify - there's too much to lose, too little to gain, for a lot of them.

We can only hope that after these hearings, Trump will be damaged to the point where he cannot run again. That's my hope. I don't torture myself by hoping for any criminal investigation or jail time - it's not coming. He'll live out his life in Florida, whining on his deathbed that he won the 2020 election.

I'm the PP and let me be clear, I don't think the motivation of Liz Cheney, Kinzinger, or Cassidy Hutchinson is purely transactional. I think they are also doing this because they believe it's the right thing to do. But I also don't believe it's happening in a vacuum. There's a person or people behind the scenes working on the people they can get to tell their stories to tell them. Cassidy Hutchinson didn't just switch lawyers on her own.

Her first lawyer was coup-adjacent. It’s possible that some of his advice wasn’t in her best interest.

She wasn't going to be protected. She should have known that when Meadows requested a pardon for himself but not her.

According to this, Tony Oronato’s actions that day are of great interest to the committee. And Pence knew not to trust certain agents that day.

It’s very strange for a USS member to become political staff also.

You guys are missing the point of this posters link and comment (thank you 6:02) I’ll add— in addition to mounting evidence, it’s clear that an inside job was at work well before Jan 6.

From the above linked article:
Tim Giebels, Pence’s lead special agent in charge of his protective detail advised him of the plan to keep him away from the Capitol. Keith Kellogg, Pence’s national security adviser, confirmed that was the plan.

Pence: “I’m not getting in the car, Tim. I trust you, Tim, but you’re not driving the car. If I get in that vehicle, you guys are taking off. I’m not getting in the car.”

Tony Ornato, who oversaw Secret Service movements and was allgedly operating as Trump’s special political advisor, told Kellog they were planning to move the vice president to Joint Base Andrews.

Kellog: “You can’t do that, Tony. Leave him where he’s at. He’s got a job to do. I know you guys too well. You’ll fly him to Alaska if you have a chance. Don’t do it. He’s going to stay there. If he has to wait there all night, he’s going to do it.” Tony Ornato denies this conversation happened.

Very important to note: Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), was president pro tempore on January 6, 2021, meaning he can/would take on Pences’s duty. On January 5th, Grassley said that he would preside over the Senate’s Jan. 6 session because he didn’t expect Pence to be there. How could he possibly know that Pence wouldn’t be there?

Ornato also denies that he told Hutchinson about Trump’s physical altercation with Bobby Engel. Roll the tape: After Trump’s speech at the Ellipse. Hutchinson testifies that she went back to the Chief of Staff’s office. Ornato was in the hall and waved Hutchinson into his office directly across from her office. Bobby Engel was in Ornato’s office.

Hutchinson states under oath that Ornato asked her: “Did you hear what fking happened in the beast (SUV)” and proceeded to tell her.
Trump screaming: “I’m the fcking president. Take me up to the Capitol now.” He reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Engel grabbed Trump’s arm and said: “Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing.” Trump then lunged at Engel.

Remember, Bobby Engel was there, while Ornato recounted the beast details. Engel did not confirm or deny. He also previously testified to the committee a watered down version of a disagreement between himself and Trump when they rerouted back to West Wing.

There’s so much more speculation and evidence of insider crimes. The list of pardon requests ironically had to go through Hutchinson lol. She provided a partial list in her testimony. Don’t sleep on Cassidy folks. Maybe they hired her for her pretty face, but she’s their ticket to hell.

18 U.S. Code § 2383
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I am the one who posted that article. Thank you for expounding on it. Please note the article was written in April. The committee is on to Ornato.

The point about Grassley is absolutely insane.

The Grassley bit is easily one of the worst things about this. It wasn’t just Trump and Meadows and a few lackeys, which is kind of how I feel like Kinzinger and Cheney want this to shake out; the entire apparatus of the GOP was involved. Grassley isn’t some newbie like MTG (who, let’s be honest, had way more access to Trump than a freshman representative ought to have had), he’s one of the most senior Republicans. Which means Mitch knew, too.

The Hutchinson yesterday was interesting and all, and it was great to have someone under oath confirming that all publicly, but we kind of knew all that stuff too. The fact that the entire GOP was at least aware of the attempted coup and many more appear to have been involved and expected to have roles to play is just gobsmacking and isn’t being treated with near the gravity it should be.

Of course, Mitch knew. He is the wellspring of all evil in our government today. Everything leads back to Mitch.

I didn’t know many of Hutchinson’s details. I’m the poster that that elaborated on the article link from 6:02. It’s the first we’ve heard of Trump’s violence against his staff, right down to the WH valets etc. who had to clean up in his wake. I’m furious about the Grassley comment, and it’s the first I’d read about it. McConnell is an utter lying sob. For me, it solidifies that the committee chairs are going after the low hanging fruit. If it gets the job done, great I guess? This is Cheney’s spotlight, if it’s successful, then gratitude. But do not think for a second she (or Pence) should be hoisted up on a pedestal. Our memories won’t be short. I have more respect for Pence after reading the article above. He knew his duty. He knew Grassley’s plan. I was unaware until reading the article above. I hope people here will read it, or at least the recap.

Hmm-yeah.... Pence wants to outlaw abortion in the entire USA. So I'll respect him for his refusal to do a crime (what a low bar!), but not for anything else. He's refused to testify, he's refused to publicly condemn Trump, he's an extreme religious conservative and plans to govern with those precepts...

And Cheney isn't much better in real life, although yes, kudos to her for being so gung-ho about downing Trump.

Pence also very much wanted to go along with the coup and was looking for any rationale that he could use to do so. Literally Dan effing Quayle had to talk him out of it.

The ratings of these hearings are deplorable. The vast majority of the country has moved on. This grandstanding non both sides is wasting time and money. The country has moved on and is worried about inflation, crumbling infrastructure, and high gas prices. They really do not care as much as the small minority of posters here seem to think they do or should.

Completely false. Millions are watching. Millions want accountability.

MILLIONS are not watching. The ratings do not reflect.

They are watching. They are watching streaming which isn’t recorded by the ratings.

For every 1 person watching tv I know 20 who watch later via streaming.

Wrong. Nielsen +7 accounts for streaming.

No one I know on the left or right is watching nor do they care one bit!

So low-brow.

Nice try. Inauguration numbers are pretty inconsequential and not under oath....
OTOH... this woman testified under oath and several "inconsistencies" (aka lies) have been discovered. So, her credibility has been called into question.

So I shouldn’t believe anything trump says unless it is under oath. Got it.

LOL, of course not. How silly.

Not even then.

She showed up and testified to us all. Combined with all the other hearings it paints a pathetic picture of the losing side of the 2020 election. What a bunch of un american criminals.

Is Herschmann claiming it is his handwriting on the note? Or that he dictated it? She definitely mentions he was present and helped dictate it:

LIZ CHENEY:

Now let's look at just one example of what some senior advisers to the president were urging. Ms. Hutchinson, could you look at the exhibit that we're showing on the screen now? Have you seen this note before?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON:

That's a note that I wrote at the direction of the chief of staff on January 6th, likely around 3:00.

LIZ CHENEY:

And it's written on a chief of staff note card, but that's your handwriting, Ms. Hutchinson?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON:

That's my handwriting.

LIZ CHENEY:

And why did you write this note?

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON:

The chief of staff was in a meeting with Eric Hirschman and potentially Mr. Philbin, and they had rushed out of the office fairly quickly. Mark had handed me the note card with one of his pens, and sort of dictating a statement for the president to potentially put out.

LIZ CHENEY:

And -- no, I'm sorry. Go ahead.

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON:

That's Ok. There are two phrases on there, one illegal and then one without proper authority. The illegal phrase was the one that Mr. Meadows had dictated to me. Mr. Herschmann had chimed in and said also put without legal authority. There should have been a slash between the two phrases. It was an -- an or if the president had opted to put one of those statements out.

Evidently he didn't. Later that afternoon, Mark came back from the Oval Dining Room and put the palm card on my desk with illegally crossed out, but said we didn't need to take further action on that statement.

LIZ CHENEY:

So, to your knowledge, this statement was never issued.

CASSIDY HUTCHINSON:

It was -- to my knowledge, it was never issued.

Since this committee has failed to push back on obviously false testimony because it is so one-sided, the lies will have to be uncovered by the media.
And, for once... they are doing their job. ABC, CNN, NBC, and others are reporting on the false testimony.

Here's the thing. No one who hasn't already been fired from the GOP was willing to touch this committee. It's "one-sided" because the party of No said No. Again.

And the media is jumping at shadows because the committee is putting forward such clear, easy-to-follow, damning hearings that there's very little they can say about them at all.

It's not false testimony. Not yet, anyway. Given how methodical the panel has been with everything, I find it very unlikely they don't have corroboration for such a crazy-sounding accusation. For instance, Hutchinson said her officemate started out with 'Did you hear what happened in the limo' or something, which suggests word had spread around about it. Entirely possible the committee found another person who said they were told the same thing (by someone other than Hutchinson), etc.

You know how bad hutchinson's testimony is by how hard all the trumpers are spinning. The cognitive dissonance is hurting and they need to make it stop.

Are potential DOJ charges dependent on Nielsen numbers?
