If a child is suicidal they should be receiving mental health treatment, not changing their bodies. Where else do we respond to threats of suicide by giving the person what is asked instead of giving them therapy?

There is a difference between feeling like your body doesn’t make your gender, and feeling deeply depressed because you are terrified to let your parents know who you really are. If your could can talk to you about their gender dysphoria, then you can help them work through it, whatever that path looks like. If they can’t be honest about it, then they end up with a very different type of mental health crisis.

Absolutely it is important for these kids to have support and get comprehensive psychotherapy to truly understand their gender dysphoria. A lot of kids with gender dysphoria have other mental health issues including anxiety and depression, a history of eating disorders, are on the autism spectrum, a history of trauma or sexual abuse. They need to have an extensive evaluation to see the root of what is going on but unfortunately with the current gender affirmation model most kids are not getting this. Instead they are quickly being pushed down the medical pathway leading to irreversible changes to their body. Those posters pointing out the issues are not hateful bigots but are concerned because kids are getting hurt due to the lack of safeguards in place.

So your main concern is locking down on treatment guidelines?

Exactly and and it’s a losing issue for Democrats. Most parents don’t want this stuff pushed in schools nor do they want their girls forced to compete against transgender girls (biological males). You can teach kids to be respectful without telling 5 year old girls that they might really be boys or boys might really be girls. Parents don’t want that in the classroom. The democrats are risking future elections by pushing this into public schools.

I’m curious as to your position. Do you think no schools are teaching “gender identity” lessons? Do you think young kids are not transitioning? Do you think minors are not getting hormones and surgery? Or do you think it’s not a problem that these things are happening? Those are two different positions. I’m curious which one you hold.
