For anyone who cares to live in the real world, they know that Baldwin has cancelled all future projects and is stepping back.

Go buy the t-shirt, you want it. It suits you.

Guns are not a fun way to pass time people.

They should be restricted to police and soldiers who need them for their jobs. I am SO over how they are viewed in our culture!!!

There are two types of people on this thread:

1. I work on film sets- It’s totally normal to take a gun from someone, point it at another human, and pull the trigger with no expectation that they might be harmed because….protocol.

And

2. Everyone else- WTAF

You're reading a different thread, friend. But it does sound like you should never try to get a job with extensive safety protocols. It would be too nerve wracking for you.

I’ve had weapons training and multiple deployments with plenty of protocols. These movie set protocols failed because they were crap to begin with.

Almost none of the protocol was followed, so I don’t think you can blame protocols.

No wrong.
There are people who actually work in the industry and have a clue.
And then there are posters like you, who don’t know what you are talking about.
But but but “navy seals”
No one who works in the industry has said actors should point guns at anyone.
But in this instance AB was told to point the gun AT the people he shot. There is no one blameless in this scenario, including the victims themselves.
The whole thing would be just incomprehensible for anyone who actually works on movies to understand, except this kind of atmosphere is exactly what the IA has been been fighting against. This is why members authorized a strike. The industry is out of control.

I've heard that he wasn't aiming at any people, he was aiming at the camera. But they were near the camera, so when the gun went off, they were hit.

Sure they are. Who TF are you to make statements like this? You don’t speak for everyone.

So what did the cinematographer and her family do to deserve this karma? In your quest to “get” AB you seem to forget someone’s family is left to mourn for the rest of their life.

Make your choices for your own life. If you think “guns are not a fun way to pass time,” you obviously have never been shooting or had a bad personal experience. Skill with firearms is not native; it comes at a cost. Many people who say things like your post simply are unwilling to put in the time and apply the self discipline required actually to know what they’re talking about where guns are concerned.

Baldwin appears to have violated each and every one of the four fundamental rules of firearm safety. His apparent negligence is not the fault of guns (which are inanimate objects) or gun owners.

The CDC says there are between one half and three million defensive uses of firearms every year. Those people shouldn’t have the right to efficacious self defense because some anti gun guy who was happy to make huge money playing with guns he chose not to understand allegedly was negligent. Nonsense.

Np- also it’s not “karma” to be anti gun and then be the victim of gun violence. GMAFB.

I’m a woman, actually. I’m also not a guns, guns, guns expert. I’ve had enough weapons training to know that if you point a gun at someone without knowing for sure whether it’s loaded, and pull the trigger, you might accidentally kill them. That’s all.
