| Word is that the prop master had left the set due to safety protocols not being followed. It does seem that there was some negligence. On whose part, I don’t know. |
| This poor woman. RIP. |
Where did you read this? |

What a horrendous story. Those poor victims, and I include Alec Baldwin in that group. Somebody in the props department massively screwed up and now a woman is dead and Baldwin is probably going to have a complete breakdown. You do not get over something like this. And whoever was responsible for correctly loading that gun and didn't do it or supervise it properly is probably headed the same way.
Crazy things happen on film sets. They lose all perspective somehow. Remember Midnight Rider, that film in 2014 where an assistant camerawoman died and 7 other crew were injured when filming on active railroad tracks and then a train came along? And then it turned out that they'd been denied permission by CSX multiple times and the director decided to trespass anyway and take a chance? He ended up in federal prison for involuntary manslaughter. |

For some reason, what I’m picturing is him joking around with a prop, maybe very stupidly aiming it as a joke when it went off.
And totally agree this may be the beginning of the real decline for him. He’s in really poor health, has had so many scandals with his family the last year, and the constant working combined with probable alcoholism and now the guilt of this awful event is just a recipe for a catastrophic event: a heart attack, stroke, mental breakdown. |
|
Alec wasn't just the lead on the film. He is a set producer. If he and his production team were making things unsafe for the crew and not following union guidance on safety, this is more than just a 'mishap'. Its negligence.
That film is not only dead. He's going to be sued out the wazoo.
|
|
Even if he's sued he has great insurance and they will handle it. How that works.
It would be awful, but if it's not his fault he doesn't need to feel guilty. If a prop can kill you therein lies the blame of who authorized that prop. |
Except the prop master walked off the set the day before, presumably after telling Alec his objections over set safety, and Alec still proceeded to use both dangerous props and keep the set open without adhering to safety protocols. |
I don’t think Alec is the only responsible for keeping the set open. |
Actually yes he is. As Producer (the highest ranking person on the production team) and Lead Actor if he says the set stays open - it stays open. Baldwin reteams with Crown Vic director Joel Souza for a Western in which he’ll play an infamous outlaw who comes out of hiding to stop his 13-year-old grandson from being hanged for murder. Highland Film Group will be handling sales of the project, which Baldwin also produces. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/alec-baldwin-upcoming-western-rust-croisette-memories-a-miss-marion-cotillard-1298939/ |
They'll do a investigation first. Then determine if anything is criminal. Where did you see the prop master walked off, I can't find anything online. |
|
Someone had to bring a live round onto the set. And that’s likely going to be the prop master or a special firearms handler.
Whoever that person is will be examined very closely - what they did, their political views, etc. It will not surprise me at all if some lunatic did this on purpose. |
| Shouldn’t this thread come with a trigger warning? |
Now that would be bad. |
