I think something like “Hi, hello” with a shallow smile and a couple head nods to reply to whatever niceties they say would work. Then say by or do a slight hand wave to end the conversation.

It really depends on what the backstory is. Assuming this is a person who you hate a little for legit reasons try one of these:
Tight smile and “let’s get started, shall we?” Ever so slightly amused smile and silence. Living your best life/milk of human kindness smile but look at your watch after 20 seconds. |
