Then you must really love Nordstrom rack.

Genuinely laughed out loud. ON POINT.

I own a couple of Kate Spades. Super cute but not as well made as my Coach bags (yes, practicality wins out every time!)

I think it’s really sad when women are so obsessed with “ABSOLUTELY NO LOGOS.” It’s really okay for your stuff to be from a brand. I promise.

I think you're misusing the word sad here. This whole thread shows why people would not want logos.

“Doesn’t want labels”: can’t afford the labels she wants or is paranoid of about looking vain so she won’t let herself buy them. The lady doth protest too much…

Actually doesn’t want labels: has had the same le sportsac for 10 years and doesn’t understand a word being said on this entire thread

You can’t afford a designer bag (probably the YSL tote) but you aren’t trying to announce that to the world. You want what’s trendy but you don’t want people to think you do. It was between this and the madewell transport tote.

This one's wrong. Could afford a designer bag but aggressively don't want one, just want something simple, well-constructed, and no logos. Sometimes compliment other people's bags by name so they know that you know, but choose not to engage.

Yup when I see all those 30 something year olds hustling to and from work with a loaded up madewell or cuyana tote on their arm I think “wow, those women must feel very passionately about the quality of their handbags and, despite appearances, must actually be very wealthy”

Yes, I see a lot of madewell/Cuyana in Silicon Valley on women who could easily afford any bag they want.

If you mean rich and also old, old school coach bags are common.

Yes the really old school coach leather purses back when they were made in the USA. Lots of these at the stuffy Episcopalian church my older relatives attend

The people on this thread insisting that everyone obviously wants a Birkin and if they say otherwise they're protesting too much sound like people on the car threads insisting everyone obviously wants whatever expensive car they covet or people in the Real Estate threads insisting everyone obviously wants to live in their particular neighborhood and is just poor if they choose otherwise.

People value different things. Your priorities are not objective truths. News at 11.

I bought my DD a Madewell transport tote (monogrammed) for her graduation. What do people think when they see that?

This. I don’t care about brands but I don’t want people assuming I’m a certain kind of person because I carry a certain brand.

Also, I think a lot of logos are just ugly. Like I think the LV logo pattern is objectively unattractive.

You are a youngish single woman who is wearing embellished leather ironically and because you saw it on the free people website. You go to music festivals with the sole intention of taking photos for Instagram.

Or you are a 50-60 year old woman who is into “funky bags” and “ the lifestyle”
