College Recruiting - Girls 22s and 23?

If you have a girl at recruiting age, it’s worth the subscription to Top Drawer Soccer. Although not perfect, that’s where the most extensive information on commitments lives and it can help your DD gauge where she could fall in the mix. For example, for class of 2021, TDS reports that the five recruits are from high-level teams in California (3), Maryland (1) and New Jersey (1).

Knowing what state a recruit is from is useless info. When your player has a list of schools that are of interest to her for college....just look at the rosters and see where the players come from....what league, team, etc. This info is usually on the bios of the players along with awards or special distinctions they may have achieved.

If the players are similar in level or lower that your player, that would be a good school to pursue. Also ask the programs how many players they are looking to recruit for a particular year and what positions.

Good luck.

It is interesting to look at rosters. Some schools had a lot of players take advantage of the NCAA COVID eligibility extension. Not sure what factors were considered between player and school in determining whether a player would repeat a year / get an extension.

Perhaps. Keep in mind that all athletes have 5 years of eligibility out of the gate. COVID adds another one. COVID has encouraged more athletes to use a fifth year but very few athletes are on a 6 year plan.
