3 break though cases in my FB feed just today in fully vaxxed people |
NP but I think PP is avoiding DC to avoid wearing a mask indoors. And that is my thought as well. I’ll go to Maryland to grocery shop, eat at restaurants, get coffee, etc. I’m done wearing masks indoors, I already followed the rules for a year and got vaccinated to protect vulnerable people. And the rest of the country is just living life at this point. |
Like there is another option for DC. |
Yep. The demographic no one talks about. |
Right- delta is a different animal, just look at the data coming from Australia. But unfortunately we kind of wore people out with outdoor masking when it wasn’t necessary so now that it is it will be a tough sell. |
Avoid MoCo though- not that anyone stopped wearing them but I’m sure a mask mandate will be back soon. |
I just want to know what the end game is. I’m not masking forever to protect anti vaxxers. If it’s until younger kids can be vaccinated, fine, but state that. |

Predictions are hard, especially about the future (of a novel virus still mutating). |
Nice try, pinheads. The numbers of vaccinated people catching Delta, with really high viral loads, are alarming. Don't put that shat on "poor black people." Instead, maybe your focus should be on vaccine efficacy with vaccinated people. |
The vaccines need 70% of the adult population to be truly effective. We've taken too long to get vaccinated. Too many people have been procrastinating for too long. It's not a racial thing because the exact same demographic is the holdout across racial lines. There's lots of blame to go around. |

Have you ever thought it’s more of an access problem and a financial problem (eg working multiple jobs, can’t get transportation or time or childcare etc)? I don’t know why pp’s adjective of “black” was necessary in the post other than to spark controversy and continue racism. Being black has nothing to do with the fact that people in wards rife with lower SES and more life challenges compared to other wards having a lower vaccination rate. Yes, the majority of those people happen to be black, but being black has nothing to do with the decision not to vaccinate. So that adjective was totally unnecessary there. |
