What is draining about 10-15 minutes on the phone? It’s 10-15 minutes fewer of CNN or Fox News. More importantly, it’s time you do have. We all have that time. Not one person is THAT busy that taking a 10-15 break would “drain” them or their family. Sheesh! |
I’m not these posters but I see it with DH and his mom. It’s not the call, it’s when he needs to go. She never wants to hang up and it’s never 10-15 min. Then there is a major guilt trip for doing so, she tells him how she will be dead soon or has some emergency she has to tell him about that she just thought of and tries to delay hanging up. DH feels terrible after when he finally gets off. It’s his issue and I get that but yes, I can see how it affects him. It’s very different from my mom where I do call every day, sometimes more than once per day, but when someone has to go we can hang up without an issue. It wouldn’t matter if DH called 3x per day. The calls would be like this. |
