Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)
I also assume many qualified URM applicants did not apply.. |
How will a lottery mitigate lack of interest among URMs? Didn't they avoid the lottery because it would be illegal? |
URMs are not interested in studying 10 hours a day to become computer scientists or engineers. Nothing complex about it. |
Wow. People actually really believe this? At this point we just need to close TJ. It’s causing more harm than good. |
A white person most have written that post. Basically calling URMs as a group lazy. What a racist. |

1) You don't have to study 10 hours a day to become a successful STEM professional. Part of what's so gross about this post is the claim that one does, which is designed to turn people off from TJ and lower application numbers. 2) It is true that students from underrepresented groups are not funneled by their parents into STEM fields at nearly as early an age. The previous admissions process favored this behavior, which is objectively bad for kids. |
| The new TJ approach will MAGA |
Or turn more people into MAGAts.. |

Few more hours... results will be out No more discussions on TJ admissions... Hope everything will be alright.. |
Nope, especially this year, there will be a lot of outrage as super qualified kids are rejected and mediocre students get in. And everyone will be waiting for the break down by school, gender and race. |
Super qualified kids have been rejected every single year of TJ's history. Mediocre kids have been admitted in every single year of TJ's history. The number of mediocre kids that get admitted has risen sharply as the test prep industry flourishes - because the entire point of test prep is to take students who otherwise would not have qualified and pose them as qualified. You would know this if you'd been connected with the school for a significant length of time - long enough to see how the school changes through generations. |
Good luck with that! No elected official or public servant is ever going to admit their mistake. If they change next year, they will have to blame themselves which is a big no-no. The new method will stay around at least for a few years before they can figure out who to blame for it not working properly. By then, it would be time for the next school board elections, and out with this idiot school board! |
