I tried watching SC a year or so ago and gave up after 2-3 episodes. After many recommendations from friends to keep going and that it gets better I tried it again starting over from episode 1. I'm on season 4 now and I love it. It gets better each episode as the characters find their place, but it really hits its stride midway through season 2. To me this show is very funny and heartwarming in a way that you don't usually see on TV. |
Cannot get through episode 1. |
Patrick has a heart of gold. I love how he transforms David. |
+1. I love Patrick’s character and their relationship. |
The scene where he sings to David. My heart explodes just thinking about it. |
DP. You're fine. You just come off sounding more thoughtful than the majority of the population. |
Same here! |
I loved SC but if you're not into it by then then its just not for you. NBD, no show is for everyone! |
Same! My DH never really got into it, but we've never shared the same taste in comedies. |
Is it laugh out loud hilarious? No, but the appeal to me is that it's an EASY show to watch. There is no shock value like every other show has to have. No raunch. You can turn it on and watch it with family and it's no big deal. It's wholesome and a turn back to how shows used to be.
My only complaint is that Catherine O'Hara's character gets old for m. Because her character's acting, she is acting the entire time and I just can't tolerate it. |
Nobody gives a f what you tolerate |
It’s more of a feel good show than guffaw guffaw comedy.
I liked it from scene 1, episode 1 when the maid opens the door, sees a bunch of feds and says “Immigration?” |
Annie Murphy’s puppy dog expressions make me barf. Did she take acting classes from levy |
She's a caricature! |
I liked it just a few episodes in, however, I find most of the characters super annoying. I can't stand how dramatic Moira is, David is so annoying, Stevie is not my type, Roland is just too much, Alexis is so ditzy at times, yet, I love the show so much. I'm probably watching it for the 3rd or 4th time. I love seeing the growth in characters, especially Alexis.
