I'm a born and bred NY Jew and I don't find this vaguely offensive. There is no way this guy meant to be antisemitic.
You need to relax. There is real antisemitism going on in the world. This is not it. |

Hey OP-- try developing a sense of humor!
Us Jews are famous for it. https://www.haggadot.com/clip/pharaoh-and-moses-go-to-a-conflict-counselor |

It's pretty ignorant and tone-deaf but, I mean, whatever. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal. Someone educates him and we move on. No need to be offended and it would not make me think twice about sending my kid, other than to confirm their policies on making up tests missed for High Holidays. (I speak from experience here, having gone to a Christian day school that always fought about letting me make up work missed on High Holidays.)

You win. This is worse. Way worse. Who do they dress up as for WW2? |
Haha that was amazing. |
Wha school OP? |
| I'm not Jewish, but I did not realize that the Passover holiday has been expanded to a whole month? I thought it just lasted a week or so? |
This is crazy. I was initially skeptical about the Pharaoh thing but this is no coincidence. |
Really bizarre. The kids made a video. They are trying to be progressive and it comes across very differently. The HOS probably didn't know or think any of it through. |
The best case here is just a place that is so cloistered that they have no idea how culturally insensitive they are. But in NoVa and in this day and age, thee is just no excuse for the ignorance. It is pretty clear that they have no diversity on their staff. |

And if you read this teachers Twitter feed, it also talks about “American Expansion” and how amazing it was that we “acquired all this land in only 70 years!” Omg, so tone deaf
Also I would not want my kids photos being used on a teachers personal Twitter feed that is open to the world to see. |
| Do those people who were offended realise there were hundreds of pharoahs and the Ancient Egyptian empire spanned thousands of years? That's pretty ignorant. |
I’d love to hear from Congressional parents. The pharaoh was awkward, and not sure I under its place in a video about superheroes, but whatever. More concerning seems to be what kids are learning in your classrooms. Is the school community ok with these approaches? (And on the photos Q, don’t schools need a waiver before posting photos of kids?) |
