| Because he enslaved Jews! Total super hero!! |
| I think this video and his use of the costume speaks more towards the sad state of their promotional marketing budget than anything else. |
I didn't get that either. The superhero and pharaoh thing didn't mix well. |
You want them to spend the money on fancy videos vs. school needs? I thought it was cute how it was done including the kids too. But, the mix of the superhero and pharaoh made zero sense. |
| Grasshopper much better |
| People. Outraged at everything and nothing all at the same time. HOS clearly did nothing wrong. And you all have nothing else going on in your lives that you have to make something out of this. |
| I’d be embarrassed by the ignorance. How does a head of school in a diverse area like DC not get it? Even if some people aren’t offended, that’s not a good reason. |
| There isn't "Passover month". It's still 10 days away. It wouldn't even occur to me to relate these two things. |
Month of Nisan (eg the Jewish calendar month in which Passover is situated) begins in a few days. I think poster was referring to that. |
| What superhero is a pharaoh? |
So I was not aware of this recent imagery being used this way. But looks like it has received considerable news coverage... enough to think it is probably unwise for a black head of school to dress as a pharoh as a super hero, or at least issue a mea culpa now that he is aware. Has anyone told this man? Maybe he is legitimately as clueless as I was. And I consider myself a pretty woke Lib. |
|
As an Egyptian I’m not offended by anyone dressing as a Pharaoh.
I am a little offended by the people who think there was only one pharaoh who enslaved Jews. |
Is it lonely for you these days with your "being rational" and "calm" and "assuming the best of others"? |
