Maybe she needed something (like food items you can't order for curbside) and had nobody else to take care of her kids? I mean, I am lucky my husband and I can divide and conquer so our kids don't go into stores, but i can EASILY think of reasons someone might take them in. Did you try?

Are you really that dence? You’re missing the point. She can mask up her kids!

Are you really that dense that you think masking makes kids safe?

“The evidence regarding the effectiveness of medical face masks for the prevention of COVID-19 in the community is compatible with a small to moderate protective effect, but there are still significant uncertainties about the size of this effect. Evidence for the effectiveness of non-medical face masks, face shields/visors and respirators in the community is scarce and of very low certainty.”

These are the same parents who probably buy massive amounts of Tylenol for back to school because a fever shouldn’t stand in the way of sitting in a classroom.

What world do you live in? If taking kids to the store is unsafe, a mask doesn’t change that. WHO says to mask kids 5 and over. In Denmark, kids under 12 don’t mask in school.

A parent desperate enough to send a feverish child to school is probably one of those essential workers who does all your dirty work so you can stay the f—- home. Congrats on your wokeness.

I cheer every time I see a family bucking the woke peer pressure and walking outside unmasked. What’s shocking is all the sheeple wearing masks while walking in the middle of a deserted street. Mask in stores; mask when packed tight. Everything else is virtue-signaling BS. Masking outside with no one around is lunacy, people; you’re doing it either for “Covid theatre” reasons, or to make yourself feel superior.

We take our kids everywhere. Youngest (22 months) unmasked. And? Older two go to school. Nobody in our house even had a cold this year. My kids get tested twice a month (per school policy). We are traveling to Europe this summer, etc. Husband and I are vaccinated... still judging? Please go ahead!

Thanks for accelerating the spread and helping create new variants.

Why do you think it’s unsafe to travel after vaccination? Do you not understand math? Also you realize diseases tend to mutate to become less deadly, right? If you look at the numbers, cases dropped sharply in the UK and South Africa, even with the variants becoming prominent. Viruses exist to propagate hosts...

Stop reading headlines and read data.

My God, the outdoor mask mandates will be laughable one day. Outdoor spread is not a thing. People stopped thinking in March.

But also if every adult around them is masked, the odds of them catching covid are low. That’s the point of masking - to protect others who can’t like small children. You also no idea what sanitizing and hand washing the parent has done. They may have already wiped the cart down with a lysol wipe and may sanitize the child’s hands regularly. And even if not, again surface transmission is not the primary way this is transmitted. It’s airborne and adults around them are wearing masks. Parents are doing the best they can.

The second paragraph you wrote contains only untruths.

With people double masking... OUTSIDE, there are clearly a lot of people who have simply lost their grip on reality. They are beyond detached at this point.

Survival of the fittest. Eventually the zero Covid, triple maskers will figure out how not to breathe. And the rest of us will go back to normal thanks to science.

Some of us don’t want more dangerous variants to develop and take hold, which they will if the only unvaccinated population is kids. That’s the way viruses work. We’re very close to being able to get a handle on things and really cut down on new strains circulating. Taking your unmasked kids out makes the situation worse for everyone.

You don’t know how viruses work.

Lol. I’m not a shelter in place type. I’m a masks outside are stupid type. But good job trotting out the old “hide in your basement forever” trope. Even I don’t do that. I feel bad for people who struggle to understand statistics and basic science, they must be very, very afraid if all they are reading is the dire mainstream media constantly reminding everyone to PANIC!!

Yes. Unfortunately, the pandemic has taught me that people in DC are educated, not smart. And a lot of people here need to consider taking meds for their anxiety.

Wearing a mask doesn’t protect you. It protects other people. So you are actually protected by other peoples masks. The 1 yr old isn’t being protected by wearing a mask. He is being protected by you wearing a mask. He is also putting you at risk if he has COVID. Hopefully you are staying away from this unmasked infants.

DP. I also think we have spent way too much time on this stupid mask debate, and not enough time talking about how to actually stay safe. It’s at the point where people think as long as they mask, they can be indoors with anyone for however long they want.
