We take our kids everywhere. Youngest (22 months) unmasked. And? Older two go to school. Nobody in our house even had a cold this year. My kids get tested twice a month (per school policy). We are traveling to Europe this summer, etc. Husband and I are vaccinated... still judging? Please go ahead! |
OP mentioned "very young kids," young enough to touch and gnaw on things. You're not supposed to put masks on kids under 2, and sometimes hard to get perfect use on a 2 year old. So no, I don't think that's the point |
If you look at number this way, then you should also take into consideration the average age/ health condition of people that die or have permanent issues. I love my grandparents a lot, but they are nit going to live much longer (Covid or nit) so killing them is the same as killing a 20 year old. The numbers you write are wrong because for society all people are nit the same. Some contribute, some take, some are at the end, some are at the beginning... |
Thanks for accelerating the spread and helping create new variants. |
Just to piss you off. |
Sorry but I’m not keeping my 1.5 year old cloistered away at home indefinitely to assuage your anxiety. Sounds like it’s curbside pickup for you! |
You are ridiculous! We don’t get sick from going to the super market or to the playground! You need professional help |
Well that may be true on the playground, it is absolutely unsure about the supermarket. It’s a very common place where folks are getting the virus. Please do some research on Covid contact tracing/sources of infection. |
Not true. It could be more transmissible and cause more long term issues, without being fatal. Long haul COVID is something you definitely don’t want for your kids. In Israel, where a lot of children have gotten it due to the school situation — doctors there are saying 10-30% have long term health issues due to the virus. Anyway, this whole thread is a demonstration of how so many people don’t understand how their own selfish interests intersect with caring about the interests of all. So many people here saying oh, kids aren’t seriously affected, my kid won’t get it from the supermarket, etc. |
+1 I know many people who got it from the supermarket. Specifically, the new variants transmit within minutes even if people are masked (with regular masks) and distanced. That’s what contact tracing in Canada showed. |
I have a friend who didn’t go anywhere except the grocery store and contracted Covid. She thinks she got it from the grocery store. |
Contact tracing shows correlation not causation. It makes sense that one of the places covid positive people note they’ve been to in the last 10 days is a grocery store. Because, uh, most people go to a grocery store at least once in 10 days. If “many people” were getting it at the supermarket or this was common, we’d have a lot more than 500k people dead. |
If you can’t hear your kids talk through a mask, either you need a hearing assessment or your kids need an SLP assessment STAT. What a lame, pathetic excuse. And we’re done. LOL. |
| OP is right. Florida Boynton Beach no masks ,Fort Lauderdale, |
This is pretty rude. You have no idea if the PP is hearing impaired. You kinda suck. |
