Why do my neighbors keep their windows open through the dead of winter?

My office gets full sun, all day, and can get really warm. I open up the window to bring in some fresh air and keep the temp down. My cat also likes to lay in the windowsill and sniff the fresh air.

We started cracking the bedroom windows at night in a desperate attempt to escape our perpetual sinus headaches. Amazingly it REALLY helps! It alleviates the effects of the hot and dry forced air.

Install a humidifier on your furnace or keep bowls if water in your bedroom to create humidity and counter dry air.

Claustrophobia.

Need for fresh air, especially when sleeping.

Love,

Your neighbor

Neighbor, why are you so nosy?

PP ignore above. Just saw your post. Try it

The air isn't necessarily stale just because you don't open your windows. Bathroom fans, vented clothes dryers, and kitchen vent hoods (without makeup air) suck air out of the house, and it's replaced by outside air.

Today is beautiful out. Some people really just have vast temperature preferences.

I am completely confused how someone would wear a puffer coat, winter hat, scarf, and gloves on a day like day, especially walking in the sun.

YES! Thank you! OMG, the woman who looks like she just hiked Antarctica in McLean Starbucks - full on Bean boots, sparkling white new parka that she paid too much for and has to justify, big hat, scarf, holy cow.....

Is this the new Han Solo look from 2000? Hilarious!

Even growing up north of Chicago, my mom regularly aired out the house in the dead of winter and we always cracked the bedroom windows to sleep. I don’t think I’ve closed my bedroom window once since summer ended here. I need fresh air.

I bet your neighbors house smells better than yours.

Because it is their house and it is none of your damn business. So mind your own business. You are the neighbor from Hell.

100% drug related if they are wide open in the dead of winter for hours/days.

Because it has their choice and, as you noted it is none of your business.
