I think this is the most likely scenario because honestly, what normal person would want to breathe fresh air? Must be ghosts. |
| Unlike the rest of the whackos on this board crying about essentially safe radiation, I keep some windows cracked to ensure a bit of exchange to prevent radon build up. |
| Fresh air. I’m in Chicago and think a little bit is necessary everyday. The indoor air literally gets stale with cold weather Oct-March. We run exhaust fans and crack windows for a little while each day, year round. Helps prevents sickness also. |
| OP here. Thanks everyone, this has been a quite amusing thread. To the angry people - I don’t care at all what my neighbors do with their windows. It doesn’t bother me. I was just genuinely curious and hadn’t thought of the various reasons people have mentioned here. |

I have windows (and doors) open most days of the year. I love fresh air. I detest stuffy, stale air.

| Rent includes utilities and they hate their landlord |
Lol love this one. |
| Fresh air. Have a roommate who smokes. |
| For fresh air. OP, how come you couldn't think of that? It's so obvious. I cannot sleep with all the windows totally closed, feel claustrophobic and feel like I will choke without fresh air, even when its cold outside. I really do not enjoy sleeping hotel rooms where I am not able to open the windows at least a tiny bit. I am European if that counts. |
This. |
Is is to aid in air circulation and particularly important during Covid. |
My neighbor does this because she misses her sorority's cold sleeping porch

+1. Our MBR is on the third floor, and if we didn't crack our windows in the winter, the third floor a/c would come on. |
| I do the same. I can’t sleep without the window at least cracked a little. |
I am guessing OP is like me and grew up with parents yelling at them to immediately close the door in the winter because we are not paying to heat the outdoors. |
