Why are millennials hated and zoomers loved?

Millennials are entitled whiners just like Boomers. Zoomers are doers.

Boomers are seen as selfish, former hippie "I got mine (to hell with you)" types. They ruined the planet. Hypocirtes who were all for "peace", then flipped as long as they can collect their social security.

Gen X were latchkey kids, fending for themselves, while both their parents worked hard and often - as Gen X will do.

Millenials are going to change the world for the better, I have no problem with them. They are educated and speak out, for the better.

My beef is with the "Greatest" generation - who are oblivious. They are reaping all the benefits of economy flukes and timing, while not paying it forward, but feeling supremely entitled. They bought a house for nothing ($30k in the hot areas in 1963), but think Gen X is "rich" for buying a house (at today's prices), without any help. Eff that. No one gave Gen X anything, for the most part.

Rich people, with generational wealth, also do not have my sympathy.

Nah, like the PP I am fine with the millenials. They are good-hearted souls who will change the world. My beef is with both the Greatest Generation and those Zoomers.

Greatest Generation-took all the resources and are a nightmare when aging. They are obsessed with aging in place and making life a living hell for their Generation X kids guilt tripping and using every form of manipulation they can to sandwich us into hell.

Generation Z/Zoomers need to stop taking selfies long enough to empty their dam voicemails. I think personality disorders are running rampant in that generation because they are so busy trying to look good on IG. I am a fan of TikTok though so they aren't all bad and some are turning in their parents who stormed the capitol. Just empty your voice mail, respect some boundaries and enough with this entitled crap.

Oh crap I think I meant Silent Generation-they are anything, but silent. They call me at random hours hysterical about things and expect me to jump on it. Then they throw a tantrum when I hire someone to deal with emergencies because they hate strangers. The silent generation is loud, entitled and bat shit crazy or maybe it's just the ones we deal with.

Here’s my take on how I feel about the various generations:
Boomers: whatever
GenX: ehhh
Millennials: who cares
Zoomers: who gives a f

Well, yeah. But that is a different post.

+1. I like you. Maybe there just aren't enough of us to feel like we have any sort of voice. I try not to fall into the "generation war" stereotypes. I do think that when I entered the workforce in the policy world there were tons of silent generation folks still working past traditional retirement age (getting their pensions and a salary) complaining that "younger people" didn't want to take up the torch. Then there were my older boomer bosses who didn't like that younger people made them "feel old" and felt we "lacked passion" as a generation. I generally like my millennial colleagues.

Lol never worked for anything? 9/11 happened when we were in high school. We have been through a housing crash and 2 recessions, and now, when we should be starting to really advance in our careers in our 30s there is a global pandemic, and our kids can’t even go to school. So...: yeah. That’s how it’s going for our generation.

GenX here. Uh... Where do you think I was and am?

I think you probably graduated college and got a job at the height of our country's boom job market and got in at least a few years of employment before 9/11 hit.

Right. Whereas my first day of HS was 9/11. I graduated from college in 2009. The pandemic hit just as my friends and I had started raising kids.

I’m not complaining, but for ppl to act like we haven’t had shit thrown at us that has seriously impacted our earning power is a little crazy.

Your main problem is self-centeredness. Do you think that others haven't been impacted by world events? You're not special.
