s/o Is it really a status thing to have 3+ kids?

We have four kids. Surprise multiples. Always hosted an aupair to help. We travel and kids are in private school.
Not a status thing. It’s a life we didn’t exactly plan but we love . Kids are happy and taken care of.

Drawbacks for sure. We can’t exactly get a “family four pack” of tickets or fit in a normal hotel room.

No regrets but I feel judged about having four kids and the environmental burden and overall chaos my life exudes. Wouldn’t change it though. It’s chaotic fun.

An aupair seems like an extra person for you to take care of and be responsible for. No?

Agree with this idea. If you have three kids but send them to public school, not a status thing. If you have three kids but don't travel internationally on a regular basis, not a status thing. If you have three kids but don't ferry them around in a BMW X7 or similar, not a status thing. If you have three kids but they're unkempt and dress poorly, not a status thing. So for most people, having three kids isn't a status thing.

It is just jealousy.
