We need more than a curfew.
We need stay-at-home orders.

One does not naturally follow the other.

If you're scared, then stay home. Don't bring the rest of society down with you.

The problem is the rest of you are too damn stupid and selfish to voluntarily stay home as well. And because you don’t, people keep getting infected and spreading it to other stupid and selfish people - like you - who also won’t stay home.

So if you won’t do what’s right, and in your own best interest voluntarily, then you need to be forced to. I’m hoping we get a SAH order that has jail as a penalty for violating it. Because that’s the only thing that will keep you stupid trumpets home - the fear of going to jail and being some big Black man’s b!tch in the shower.

If everyone would’ve just stayed home for 3 weeks in April, this would’ve been over by May. But thanks to you and your dumbass president, we now have like 8,000 people a day dying.

This is foolish and unscientific. Quarantine does not eliminate the virus. It only prevents a population from exposure to the virus so long as the quarantine is maintained. There is no such thing as quarantine for "3 weeks". This is why, despite much more heavy handed lock down orders, Europe experienced a surge in cases.

Despite public health measures that were far more like a lock down than anything anybody in the US did, IN THE SPRING, Europe experienced a surge in cases IN THE FALL.

And in between, they had a much closer approximation of normal life, and many, many, many fewer dead people.

+1 It's why NY is surging now too. The virus is seasonal. Everything should have been opened this summer and fall and prepared for whatever kind of lockdowns states wanted to do in November. The virus will go away in April, which is why Biden is recommending a 100 day mask policy. He could tell all of us to wear blue socks for 100 days and the virus would go away. It wont be because of some silly mask mandate.

I remember hearing last spring that the virus would go away in April. I also heard last summer that the virus had already gone away in June. Then I kept hearing that the virus would go away on November 4. But here we still are.

Either you're a troll, or alarmingly stupid, or mentally ill. Hopefully the former.

Everything you are saying is wrong, meaning, non-factual. Not sure if you are lying, misinformed, or just stupid, but please don't post anymore. And if I hear the word "fear porn" one more time from someone ignoring over 3000 deaths a day, 100K+ hospitalized, I am going to scream.

I think Northam's orders are the best we will get right now because we do have capacity and so far, VA's metrics have not been horrible. A lot of spread comes from social gatherings which are impossible to manage/control.

Indoor dining is an issue, but appears to be less so than people getting together irresponsibly. I meet my friends every weekend on the driveway with masks and distance, but I know several social groups who have moved indoors. They think they are safe, but they are exposed daily at stores and at work. Three cases confirmed among these groups and lord knows how many they have exposed...

A stay at home order during the holidays will never happen. Maybe in January when our numbers do spin out of control, but Northam is in a bad position.

Right now he is relying on so far compliant Virginians to continue to do so, and to let jurisdictions do their thing---like Prince William County's new restrictions this week.

We will see.

This is the problem when folks at home try to become public health experts. Yes, there is excess mortality, but did you know that, "According to the United Nations World Population Prospects report, approximately 7,452 people die every day in the United States. In other words, a person dies in the US approximately every 12 seconds." This is 2017 data.

So, all the breathless "more people than Hiroshima" posts reflect a lot of ignorance. Lots of people die, all of the time, because they are old or sick. It remains to be seen whether most COVID (classified) deaths just switched the cause, hastened some deaths that would have happened during the coming year, or actually killed a bunch of healthy people. It takes awhile to have data come in. We do know that any death where someone has tested or is presumed Covid positive is classified as such a death, even when they died in accidents.

So calm down your screaming...

still lying or misinformed or stupid. Your posts aren't even worth responding to except to tell you that you're lying misinformed or stupid.

All of the hospital workers are going to have PTSD if they don't already, you'd better hope you don't have a heart attack or get in a car crash because there is no capability in the hospital to take care of you, but there you are, going right ahead with the "people die all the time" thing.

If bars are already closed, what are people out doing between 12 am and 5 am? Everything is closed!

This! This seems like one of the tricks I used to try for Lent as a kid - I'll give up broccoli for 40 days, or I'll only eat cookies for dinner. It's completely pointless - and i don't really know why he bothered!

People are having parties at private homes. Essentially, they’re speakeasies. There’s no real way to stop those types of gatherings.

The rapid rise of covid is due to speakeasies??? Really? Are we in the 1920s and not 2020s?

So you don’t look at real numbers or data? Also, you aren’t familiar with the fact that ICUs are regulated to keep them at about 75% utilization on normal days. We are over that now, but it’s not the Armageddon that you think. I think that I’ve encountered your posts before and all you do is respond that people who disagree with you are stupid. Ok.

I would tell you to go tell the people who are actually working in the ICUs that it's not the Armageddon they think it is - but the people who are actually working in the ICUs have enough to deal with.

Mmmm, yes, "too damn stupid and selfish to voluntarily stay home as well." I own a small business that provides essential services, and I've been taking all health precautions seriously since March. If I voluntarily stayed home, it WOULD be too damn stupid and selfish because I wouldn't be able to house, feed, and support my children. There are millions of Americans in this predicament. Some are financially better off than others, but our professions/jobs don't grant us the luxury of locking ourselves up in our houses and firing off nasty and ignorant messages on social media.

Oh, and furthermore - I happily voted for Biden in November.

You clearly need some help to work through some serious anxiety issues.

Exactly no one believes a smarmy sounding prick like you voted for Joe.

Nice try, troll. You’re a trumpet all the way. Your reckless disregard for the live of others in the name of paying your mortgage is all the proof anyone needed. We saw right through you.
