you can do a roman shade here! can go super simple w/ white roman shade with a border sewn on.

separate comment: Emily Henderson's style is only possible in SoCal where the light is amazing all the time and will make your white walls sing. not here.

This room needs curtains!

My curiosity is piqued by your comment. Where would you put the curtains and how long given the trim/walls/radiator/a/c unit situation?

It looks like they have roller shades. I like the no curtain look especially with small windows. They probably don’t get a ton of natural light so they keep them uncovered during daylight.

But in order to keep the dog off it at night we cover it with musical instruments ( a guitar in a case, a conga drum, a small portable amp). And b/c nobody is visiting us these days, we just leave the stuff on the couch all the time. We sit at our desks to work, and the dining table or kitchen island for every thing else. Sad but true.

Did someone say Emily Henderson? (Though I want more chock-full bookcases.)

We have a white couch in the family room and it’s the best. The slipcovers have been washed (and bleached) dozens of times, and it still looks great.

This is my fave so far, what is this called?

Thanks for fixing that for me! (This is the EH living room red rug poster.) I’m not sure what it would be called — sort of traditional, with some splashes of mid century? “Minimalist traditional eclectic” or “clean traditional” or something, idk. I loved this version of her living room am bummed by how far she’s moved away from it.
