I don't get the white furniture in the family room. You see it all the time on home improvement shows, and I just don't get it. In most households it would not be white within what, a month? A week?

We have white in our LR, and it’s fine since kids aren’t allowed to eat in here.

Everything’s washable, and I’ve had to stain treat and wash exactly twice in five years thanks to adults spilling wine or coffee.

My curiosity is piqued by your comment. Where would you put the curtains and how long given the trim/walls/radiator/a/c unit situation?

It looks like they have roller shades. I like the no curtain look especially with small windows. They probably don’t get a ton of natural light so they keep them uncovered during daylight.
